Revision from VSG to RNY

Recommended Posts

I had the VSG 3/2015. I lost down to 148 was my lowest. After my body completely had a nervous breakdown itself including a stroke 8/2018 I gained back up to 212. I own this completely. I went from 12,000-20,000 a day to 3000 or less steps a day because of right side weakness and repetitive falls.

Before I get all the way back to my SW of 276 I am taking action!!!!

So here I am, licking my wounds, moving forward.

Hi!

Question ( not judging promise just looking for clarification)

Your food choices were Still plan perfect and you gained 60lbs?

No medication interactions? Only reduced exercise caused weight gain?

Thanks!

Oh and speedy recovery 🎈

I was extremely active therefore wasnt calorie counting. However when I continued to not calorie count and became sedentary I gained 60 lbs within 3 months. I am still in PT for my weak side but I am making good progress and am about to start on a treadmill regimen.

Have you considered trying the calorie counting method first? Do you still have a feeling of restriction with VSG?

I have zero restriction. I developed a stricture/dysphagia after stroke and they stretched it.

Ok got it, I participate in a lot of threads and a convert was not too thrilled to find out that along with the conversion she lost restriction. I don't think many people have mentioned that anywhere that I have seen so I thought I would pass that info along. Many hopes of healing and returned good health to you, soon! 💜💜💜

My brother had a stroke also, was far too young for it a well, but with PT, time and regular gym session you cannot tell at all. The only thing is his Aphasia is not completely gone, but you win what the Great Scratch Off of Life hands you!

XOXO

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
