A thought to ponder, found this today and it is true.
Some people try to turn back their odometers, but not me. I want people to know why I do look this way. You see I have traveled a long way in my life and all the roads were not smoothly paved.

Good luck to you. I was 68 when I had my sleeve done wish I did it sooner. Recovery was a piece of cake. Missing real food though. I have to just get used to that.

So as I’m losing, my resting you know what face must be changing. Every time my daughter walks in the room this past week she looks at me and says,”what?!” Me: “what, what?!” She says, “you were making a face”. HUH?! Sitting doing and thinking absolutely nothing! It’s all I can figure out. 😐🤪😂

Ps. I’m counting it as a NSV!! Lol

I just turned 51 in February and I am getting a gastric sleeve on April 1st. I feel this is a new beginning for me and I plan to really start living a new, better life.

Congratulations Robin!! You won’t regret your decision and the future healthier us will thank us for it!! (You might question it while your recuperating but that is totally normal!!!)

off blood pressure and diabetic meds - Age is nothing but a thang.

@CaribeRidge

Everything sounds terrific, things will only get better.

the NSV's you mentioned will continue and become more frequent.

your DH sounds like a keeper! buying a similar bike to ride with you,

what a sweetie.

Getting thin so you feel like you "deserve" your DH - hmmmm - i think/hope

you know better. he loves you now - size doesn't matter, but smaller definitely

will help with your medical issues, diabetes gone - and HBP is lower now. true,"

personnel" things you and DH will enjoy as you "grow" smaller.

True - age is just a number. Every year my number goes down and down and

down!! LOL I was one month shy of being 58 years OLD when i had the sleeve.

now,7+ years, i am now 65 years YOUNG!!

keep up the good work

kathy

congrats

I just turned 50 last December and I’m having gastric bypass surgery April 16th. I decided it was time to stop letting the food control my life. I’m super excited about having surgery.

How exciting! I turned 50 last October and had my surgery feb 6, so we will literally be about the same age on surgery date! Can’t wait to see what us 50+ future hotties can do!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
