Three and a half months from my sleeve surgery. I’ve not had any issues other than minor constipation. Never had a problem eating and drinking water. Down 50 pounds so far. Have not lost any hair yet (knocking on wood). No regrets!

4mo since VSG, 68yo, 23hrs in hospital. No pain, no complications. I was able to drink fluids and protein shakes with no problems. Best decision of my life.

OMG I’m lying here in so much pain from eating a few teaspoonsful of food. I’m literally, tears are running down my face? I also brought some of it back up.

Between that the coughing and saw sinus, runny nose. I want to die. wtf did I try and eat for.

I’m so sad and in pain.

Who got any sleep at the hospital?! Seems like everyone is coming in and out and no sleep!

I had my sleeve on 4/8 and I’m right there with you. Never thought I’d kill to eat an egg.

Tomorrow is the big day for me. I will be so glad when it is finally over. I pray that all of you who are about to have your surgery that all will go well and a speedy recovery for you all. I pray that all those who just had the surgery will have a speedy recovery as well.

UPDATE: had my first post op appt today. I was sleeved 4/8. Surgery weight was 225, today was 210. Down 15lbs. The body analysis shows that was mainly fluid loss, but doctor said that’s normal. He cleared me to start purées stage Saturday. Never in my life have I ever looked so forward to mashed potatoes or scrambled eggs!! 1 more day of liquid. Water still a struggle. I used to drink 80-100 ounces a day, now 40-50 is about all I can manage on top of the protein shakes, broth and yogurt. My doctor said it will get easier in a couple more weeks when the stomach swelling goes down. Hope you all are doing well on your journey. Feel free to ask me anything! I’m at the hospital now. My RNY is at 7:30 this morning. I’m ready to get this done and start my journey.

It went pretty well. I was very nauseous after I woke up and was in some pain. The nausea went away after a couple of hours, no vomiting.

I’m getting morphine 4mg every two hours, toradol (anti inflammatory) and Tylenol through my iv. So, I’m feeling pretty good now.

I’ll be going for a walk soon. Hopefully, that goes well. I think it will. I’m still having a hard time believing that this has finally happened! Lol

I’m at the hospital now. My RNY is at 7:30 this morning. I’m ready to get this done and start my journey.

Saw my surgeon for my pre-op and she confirmed that she does not use a bougie, but uses an endoscope. She showed me the size. Pretty small. She said she uses it because she can look at the stomach at the same time and check for complications. And then can use it for the leak test. She put my mind at ease.

Mine is tomorrow ? feeling nervous as hell and excited all at once!

My surgery is tomorrow; I'm first on the surgery list. Starting to get a tad wee bit nervous. More nervous, lol.

Your body will definitely guide you better now if you pay closer attention and follow the new guidelines given (super important),Good luck!

Your stomach talks to you a lot better post-op than it did pre-op. It lets you know when you're full and when you're really hungry.

It will guide your life all right. Keep plenty of fluids going in, they will,be your best friend in early days. As you,later,through the different levels, of purees and on, you will find you fill up quicker. If go slow, don't overfill,yourself, 2 oz. at a time and you f8nd out what I mean, but good luck with your surgery and may you do well! And we all,have been there and we' ll be here if you need a friend.
