6 days post opp

Recommended Posts

6 days out post opp having had a mini bypass in Cancun with Dr. Perez. I am feeling really great, and following my clear liquid diet, they also recommended me take a bariatric Protein Shake they sold at the hospital which I bought, and have been able to use starting day 3 well I can not stand this Protein powder, but I really struggled with my Protein Shakes with the pre opp phase also after trying 3 different ones and flavours, any suggestions from members...not sure if I can drink the Protein Drinks 😕 I would rather go through having the surgery again before I have to swallow another ounce😕 I am managing very well with Clear Liquids and Water getting in 70 ounces per day last 3 days.

Hi and Welcome

I don't have any recommendations for Protein Shakes but hopefully someone may, but have you tried things like collagen powder, some are quite high in Protein and can be mixed with various liquids or Soups.

I am still in the free Fluid stage for another 10 days or so, in place of a shake sometime I have been having some yo pro yoghurt thinned down with some Water or skim milk.

Thank you so much for the advise, as I am still in Mexico for a few more weeks I am having a hard time finding things assumed the bariatric Protein Powder they sold to me would get me through, but today I will look for a clear Protein that I can add to yogurt etc.

Hi berry girl, yes I really like him, so easy to talk to and I think a wonderful surgeon, he explained everything to me.

I went straight to the mini gastric bypass as to his suggestion due to my health issues, diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol , as my BMI WAS 30 he did not recommend the sleeve for me, so I took his advise.

my son and daughter in law had the sleeve done with Dr. Perez also and are both doing awesome...

i am am doing great tomorrow will be 2 weeks since surgery, I see him for a follow up, and look forward to getting the OK to get into the ocean and pool.

good luch in your continued journey

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
