What to pack for lunch...headed back to work

Recommended Posts

Hi All. I’ll be 4 weeks sleeved next Tuesday. I’m headed back to work next Thursday. Not sure how to pack lunch/snacks for the day. As of this week I’m on soft/puréed food. What does your typical day look like food-wise? I just purchased a bento box with compartments off Amazon to help but I’m not sure how to pack. I can tolerate a lot of liquids/smoothies but am scared to try meat Protein right now. Help please! Thanks!

You can have tuna, pureed chicken salad, I loved it when I was on the soft stage, cottage cheese with fruit, avocado, deli meat rolled up with cheese sticks, hummus, peanut butter...do a google search and you will get so many ideas as well.

I wish you all the best and Congrats on your surgery.

Thank you. I just tried a slice of Applegate roasted turkey with a smear of hummus and it was delightful. Definitely on my list for next week. I was able to eat the whole slice but that was it so that may be my entire lunch. LOL

My go to is Oikos triple zero yogurts, cheese sticks and roasted chick peas for Snacks :)
When you get there— turkey Jerky is yum!

Hummus and tuna packs are great options for lunch!

Here is my lunch today— chick peas , cucs , peppers with spicy tuna and a smidge of feta . Amazing . When you get there tho!

Congrats !

4 Weeks out from sleeve surgery. I’ve found deli turkey to go down very easily. I buy organic fat-free turkey slices at costco. A serving size of two slices is 50 calories. And I also buy cheddar cheese indivually wrapped pieces. Each has 50 calories. 4 slices of turkey and 1 piece of cheese is 150 calories and 30 g of Protein with no fat. Your hunger will be satisfied all day.

Refried Beans, Soups and string cheese. At seven years out string cheese is still my go to food and cheddar baby bells. Good luck.

Yes, it's amazing how little we eat now and get full and satisfied. You are going to do great!!

I am about 5 months out and I still bring a lot of the same stuff to work:

Cottage cheese

Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt (There are a few flavors)

Protein Shake

Crystal light Packets

2 oz of deli meat with a slice of cheese rolled up

Refried Beans with a little bit of shredded cheese on top. I heat it up in the microwave

Canned tuna or chicken w/ avocado or greek yogurt (Mayo sub.)

Boiled egg or egg salad (with avocado or greek yogurt)

The rest is portioned left overs :-).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
