Woke up ready to make a drink that required Torani Sugar Free Syrup , don't know why but I remembered it having sucralose. wrong. Acesulfame potassium. tossed it. Chose Starbucks Sugar Free Syrup instead which does have sucralose, but then started to wonder about all artificial sweeteners, again. Sigh.

Slippery slope. Tossing them all.

Just a small amount of info below (a video that references research and journals, and a journal reviewing research) for anyone who would like it and if you conduct any research, please add it for others to see. And by all means add info to the contrary if you find that also.

If you make a shake with 8 oz Fairlife milk (13g protein) and 1 scoop unflavored protein powder (20-30g protein) add some fruit and stevia, you'd be in good shape. Can you handle stevia?

  • Liquid stevia appears in some studies to improve blood glucose control and maybe insulin sensitivity, I think? It's mainly the sweetener I use. If I occasionally have saccharine from Sweet n Low in ic

Ooo! I hope so, if you find some let me know! I'll keep a look out too

Hi Leia

It is easy to make your own non carbonated kombucha. If you are in Houston PM me and I will be happy to give you a "kombucha mother". What gives kombucha its fizz is the second fermentation. Just like with soda if you leave it open it will lose its fizz.

Kombucha on friend!

pretty much use stevia for any sweetener I need.

You don't happen to have kefir grains do you? :D

I'm in Houston.

Ya got to face it, your damned if you do and damned if you don't..

The " experts " will tall you one thing, then another thing a few months later.. to be honest, I dont think anyone really knows about them..

Plus, you have to be careful of the studies themselves.. need to see who is funding them.. the sugar growers will always try to tell you how bad the artificial sweeteners are and the sweetener people will say how bad sugar is.

Uurg, well that kinda kills my dependence on Premier Protein shakes. They have been the only reason I'm getting to or close to my Protein goals so far. :(

I dont like how sweet they are anyway, but its so hard to find shakes that don't have artificial sweeteners.

On the other hand, I have IBS, and chronic inflammation...and if getting completely off this stuff would help clear that up, I've got to try.

Isopure has a natural line of powders that use cane sugar--and a surprisingly small amount per serving. 25g of protein and 3g sugar. Mixed into water or skim milk it 1000x better than a premade shake--no thickness or off taste (other than one would expect from whey isolate).

yes I do but they have been dormant in the fridge. I would be happy to share them with you. My kefir grains are for kefir water (think champagne not yogurt).
