  2. lucky, my program taught this. still have a problem with this though, its a very hard habit to break.

    PILLS??

for me, it was the liquid stuff. Tylonal PM is your best friend for the 1st 2 weeks.
  5. Has anyone tried it? on paper it look ideal but it has only recently been approved for use as a sweetener so there is not alot of data on it. I use splenda now and its not ideal, it also doesnt make me vomit and pass a bad after taste like some others. If you have not tried monkfruit? what do you use as a sweetener?

    Carbonated Beverages

wow, watched that video and it contradicted most of what my program said.😱 So funny how different things are depending on who you talk to.

    Carbonated Beverages

everyone is different. My program also says no carbonated stuff.. I say try a little, see how you do. I cant imagine though the belching that would be involved. hard enough drinking non carbonated drinks and not burping all the time.,
  8. remember, they fill you with fluids when your in the hospital, takes a bit to pee all that out. I bet most of your weight loss is that.

Stalls happen. just keep going. Also, they are correct, 30lbs in 2 months is great.

    Soup disaster

yes! they have that at my local grocery, its a wonderful thing.. a real treat when i got past the liquid stage
  11. I am just curious about what foods you may eat that you are not supped to do it being unhealthy or what not. Me, I have had ramen noodles like twice since my surgery. not the best thing to eat I know but eh..

    Soup disaster

The deal on coffee post op

Mine was one of those that said never.. something about how the caffeine affects the blood sugar. I ended up having coffee like 2 or so weeks out. now have maybe 3 cups a day.
  14. I have not heard of this but I did " paleo " for a month just to try it out and see how easy/hard it was. Lost 25 lbs. The hardest thing is no dairy or grains.. i love bread.. but its something you can look into if the full on carni does not work for you. My sister is type 1 and does Keto. says its the only thing she tried that keeps her blood sugars from really going wonkey

    clothing

When did y'all begin to replace your clothing? my jeans are really getting lose but i dont want to have to buy several pairs as I am loosing.. I got a feeling its best to make new notches int he belt and just wear what I got till I am at the weight I want to be,
  16. my program has it we are free to eat whatever after 6 weeks. I also found that in can not eat anything at that point. some things really upset my stomach, one being whole grains. I have not tried rice as of yet though, as I have found even looking at carbs makes me gain weight.

    Scariest Stall Yet

i went through a stall that hit about the 8th week and seemed to last 2 weeks but seems to have broken. I was stuck at 325ish and the last few days I have dropped to 316ish, so they happen, just keep it up!

    Protein during clear liquids

My program did not have a clear liquid, just liquid so protein shakes were good. My surgeon also said not to worry about it for the 1st week, just get liquids down as dehydration was the biggest cause for early complications
  19. yep, its where I am at too, need to stop that. so much easier to eat some walnuts then deal with eating a meal.. then i just graze on walnuts all day..
  20. no worries, just don't make a habit out of it. I can see someone going crazy trying to eat the right stuff all the time.. you have to let go here and there..and as Jazzy pointed out, just dont do it every day, or even every month.,
  21. My pre-op diet was pretty much the same as my 2 week post-op liquid diet.

Sad news if you like to drink

To be honest, id be more worried about dying in a car crash on the way to work then having a drink now and then. We all need to consume in moderation now

    Slimfast

Yeah, I think there are better options, I use premier powders and just mix them with 1% milk, pretty cheap and its pretty good stuff
  24. What was the 1st thing you had? I am planning on 3ish gulf shrimp, pan seared with lots of garlic. Or maybe a piece of whitefish, also seared with a dill cream sauce.. We will see how it all goes though, I am on my 1st day of very soft foods. had scrambled eggs this morning and lastnight I cheated a little and had some cottage cheese.. sofar so good.

    Stalled at almost 7 months

Also, Muscle weighs more then fat, so if you are adding muscle your weight will rise even though you are still losing fat.
