  1. i am over 3 weeks out and still get pain from time to time. I am not taking anything for pain, only taking Tylenol PM at night. I think its more that scab that forms over the incisions and how they solidify and then can crack when its stretched
  2. I am more worried of eating something I love and having it not sit right in my stomach?
  3. I have seen so much mixed information on coffee and weight loss surgery. my program says no, others say its fine..
  4. My Nut says caffeine is a no no, but they also say about any vice is a no no.. any of you still drinking coffee? did your Nut say to stop if you did ?
  5. be prepared for your life to change. I am kinda seeing it as I died, then was reborn.. now everything is an adventure, specially when you eat. you never know what is going to agree with your new stomach or not.
  6. Not yet although I am only a little under 3 weeks off from my surgery. I do wish it becomes exercising, but I am a rather lazy bugger.
  7. Always hard to say what will happen after they been up in your guts. My opinion, which is worthless, is its your body.. do what you like. just be ready to accept the consequences if you do. Most doctors will always err to caution I think.
  8. I would advise for you to go back to the basics, Sometimes you just need to stop and reboot everything.
  9. I used Uber. Quick and easy and you dont need to ask someone to take time off work to get you.
  10. Pistachios, i cant for the life of me NOT eat the whole bag.
  11. I got to say I dont feel as large as I am. at my max i was close to 450 lbs. I never felt like I was that heavy until I saw myself in a mirror. The funny thing was id see guys that looked Waaaay bigger then myself but they weighed less..funny thing that.
  12. I dont think corn in general breaks down very well so I dunno. I am sure its prob not the best snack to have.
  13. going to be interesting to see what I can and can not eat in the coming weeks.. and yes, i will try pizza?
  14. Grilled Salmon would work as well, to bad its so bloody expensive.. even here in the PNW. Maybe some fresh Asparagus to go with it
  15. What was the 1st thing you had? I am planning on 3ish gulf shrimp, pan seared with lots of garlic. Or maybe a piece of whitefish, also seared with a dill cream sauce.. We will see how it all goes though, I am on my 1st day of very soft foods. had scrambled eggs this morning and lastnight I cheated a little and had some cottage cheese.. sofar so good.
  16. So those creams work? can i ask which you use ?
  17. You look amazing! I do have a question, how is your skin issue? My biggest worry is turning from a big, fat guy into a disgusting skin monster.
  18. Ya got to face it, your damned if you do and damned if you don't.. The " experts " will tall you one thing, then another thing a few months later.. to be honest, I dont think anyone really knows about them.. Plus, you have to be careful of the studies themselves.. need to see who is funding them.. the sugar growers will always try to tell you how bad the artificial sweeteners are and the sweetener people will say how bad sugar is.
  19. let us know if its any good, I am looking at cookbooks as well
  20. I am in the same boat as you are. you have no idea how much I can't wait for mashed potatoes when I can start the very soft foods next week. I am already thinking about what I will have when I can start real food.... Grocery shopping yesterday was hell, the smell of that fried chicken in the deli.. but I was good, got soup, yogurt, jello and milk.
  21. way I see it, ya have to live your life. We are not all joining a monastery or anything. have a drink if you want, just dont drink the whole bottle and dont do it every day. Same goes with food. Looking at my recommended things the Dr wants me to eat, no way. I will have a fat, juicy cheeseburger and fries some time. just not every week...need to have balance in all things..
  22. nah, ma is gone.. Cancer got her in 2013. the funny thing was it was right where her switch was.
  23. Have them check your Iron levels, my mom had a Switch put in and after a while she was constantly eating ice. ended up being very iron deficient and needed IV.
  24. yeah, my surgeon said its a bit of a trip, your hammered off a drink, then sober like 20 minutes later. I used to drink quite a bit but been sober for a year and a half so its not a huge deal for me. maybe i'll have a drink at some point, maybe not.
  25. Mine said no Booze.. EVER.. never ever. I was told that after surgery it can lead to abuse even if you did not abuse before.
