I been banded for almost 2 months I have lost 28 lbs after 6 weeks. And I will have my first fill 19 of Nov. I am wonder do you still lose weight like you do after the first 6 week until the first fill. After the first fill what is the normal weight lose. My Doctor said I lost 10 lbs of Water and 10 lbs of fat after the first month. I just want to know because I lose 2 lbs and it stays the same for a week or so. Help me if you know how to help me.

Like you, my weight loss was quick at first, then it tapered off.

If I average it now, I lost less than a pound a week. But I am proud of that, and it added up because it was consistent.

I am now, 16 months out and 95 pounds down.

OK, I just checked my calculation, I am wrong. I lost on average of 1.5 pounds per week on average. I tend to lose a bunch, then maintain, lose a bunch then stall.

Anyway, just remember, a year WILL go by and each and every day and week you WILL be lighter.

Good luck on your journey.

A major thing that help me maintain my sanity over the years was letting the scale go. I weighed myself once a month and focused mainly on inches. As you begin working out and weight training the inches and body fat are more telling.

Good luck hun!!

I lost really well and quickly - well I consider 2lb a week quick - for about six months, without even trying. The first six weeks I lost even faster than that. I'd lost most of my weight by 12 months and its just been very very slow since then, but most of that time, I've been within my healthy weight range so wouldnt expect to lose fast without superhuman effort.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
