Started my liquid diet Aug 23, 2018. 1 week Aug 29, but I see no big change in bowl movement. Is this because I am not on liver cleansing? I've been told to expect severe loose bowls but NOTHING. Can anyone help?

Well I have been on a liver cleansing diet since August 1st. I will. have,my RNY Bypass in a week, on September 5th. I don't know if it is the Iron in my prenatal,( my hospital recommends them) Vitamin or the fact my Colon removed Fluid extremely well but I tend towards the extreme. I am on the edge of Constipation. I was doing every other day Miralax but have gone to every other day Milk of Magnesia. This keeps me firm 💩but passable.,That's how it is for me.

The Iron can definitely cause it. You can take a magnesium supplement with colace if you are constipated or try some Smooth Move tea. That stuff works like a charm with no cramping

Thanks, I will try the Smooth Tea. Yes it works wonderfully, I brought it for my daughter when she had hemroid surgery. I am anemic so, Iron deficiency is possible. Miralax has not helped, taking it daily has been a joke.

My RNY bypass is Sept 6.

Thanks ladies

Frustr8, your in my prayers. We'll both come through like the "CHAMPS" we are

Magnesium tabs work like a charm as well if you're ever finding the tea isn't helping.

The pre-op liquid diet *IS* the liver *shrinking* diet. Not everyone has loose stools on this diet, I wouldn't try to force yourself into loose stools just because someone told you it could happen.

If you are having problems moving, sure, but trying to meet a potential outcome just because, isn't really super smart. So again, if you are moving normally and aren't having issues, then don't worry about it. If you are backed up, THEN it's understandable.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
