I’m 42 was sleeved the end of May this year, so I’m right at 12 weeks out and down 60 pounds as of this morning. Parts have been difficult but no regrets. Think I did the surgery at the right time in order for me to be successful... If I would have done it sooner I’m not sure I would have been as committed

Was sleeved at 45. I’ve put some of the weight on. But I have been taking it off. It’s a struggle. I can’t tell you how hard it is to lose the weight. If you are doing the surgery now. Watch your wright. Don’t let it get out of hand and exercise daily. I lost the interest in exercising daily and did it once or twice a week. So I gained weight. Now I exercise daily every morning and watch what I eat. No carbs. Get my Water and Protein in daily. Good luck everyone.

I feel the same as thatgirl2121, I feel my youth was wasted and I can only imagine what my life would have been like if I did it sooner, many missed things Because of my weight. And the benefits of the surgery?! Let me tell you something men, if there is any reason to get it done it’s the improvements in men’s health!! Lol

I’m 41 and haven’t been sleeved yet. My date is September 7th so it’s getting close. I previously had the lap band but the complications forced me to have it removed. Looking forward to this new stage.

44 and sleeved on 2/28/18. So far, I’ve lost 76lbs since surgery. Totally wish I would’ve done this year ago!

I am 44 and was sleeved 7/26/18. I am down 36 pounds. I also wish I had done this sooner!

The first three weeks were tough for me. Getting the fluids and Protein in was a real struggle. Then after week 3, I turned a corner. Nausea went away after my Protein Shakes. I started working out. Energy levels went up!

I can still only get about 3 table spoons of food in at a meal but the nutritionist is ok with that as long as I meet my protein and fluid goals and take my Vitamins.

It's normal to get nervous, be excited and wary all at the same time! Congratulations on your decision to maximize your health! Good Luck with your journeys!

Hi all. I am in my forties. Wondering who else is on the boards in the same age bracket. Wondering how being sleeved has affected your life at this age. Do you wish you were sleeved sooner?

Biggest regreat was not getting it done sooner. I had my surgery last year.. I was 40.. no big deal.. I had no issues at all.. down from 405 to 205.. I havent lost weight for last 4 months.. but doing tons of crossfit.. so I guess not loosing but gaining muscle.. best of luck pal

Sleeved 5 years ago at 44. Beyond thrilled. 271 to 135 ish. Couldn’t walk around the block without getting winded, now I run marathons. I didn’t even do that when I was 20.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
