I have not made one with cauliflower crust, but if you go on Pinterest and search fathead pizza dough, there's one that uses almond flour, cream cheese and shredded cheese - It was one of my go to's before WLS.

We don't like coconut flour so really try to use Almond flour alternatives.

Thanks so much! Will definitely check that out.

It’s on my list of things to try. But for now I have a bread maker and it’s easy to just throw the ingredients for the dough in and then it to the correct setting. Then I pull it out, split it into 2 dough balls and let them rise for another hour or so, next time I’ll double that. And then because my career is in the pizza industry I happen to be fantastic at tossing pizza up in the air and spinning it—so I impress the kids before I make a decent looking pizza. I’m still trying to get the perfect dough recipe though lol. I might just buy a cauliflower crust from Trader Joe’s next time lol. :)

Haha I will definitely have to work on pizza dough tossing

Question- maybe I should already, know this answer- if so refresh my over-wheled mind. How long to you have to crush medications? I am now 3 weeks and 3 days post-surgery😷 yeah I know___ YEAH ME! Sure worked long ( over 3 years) and hard with roadblocks, nay- sayers, and a sneering surgeon and staff trying kill things before my plans finall achieved. This RnY, my last and I hope ultimate Bariatric Success!
So penulimate query( gosh I love Adult,Language!) was I crushing because of size, I was told pills larger than M&M(smartie size- my Commonwealth Cousins), difficulty swallowing- that was never a problem! I could bolt foods down great abandon in unlimited foods days or is it my egg-sized pouch unable to digest and pass things along to my "jj" small intestine unless pulverized? I do recall the average stoma size is maybe dime-sized ?
Now as I heal I have developed crabby crappy urine -although I am struggling toward Fluid nirvana- color is still warmish and odor is strong. Tried to consult PCP, tried to consult my own urologist, transportation fouled up, both went on their weekend holiday without seeing me. So I consulted my Community Hospital ED, always an iffy choice but surely THIS is not beyond their experiences, after all, even non-bari- people get UTI. Did not want to be driven 50 miles to OSU and HAVE the people say " does your local hospital NOT know how to handle URINE?" That would be mortifying.
So this AM after last Lovenox shot, Hail and Farewell, I have laid out. & planned my Zofran, teeny pill size and Ditropan, also teeny size, then to add to group Bactrim, a medium- sized white lozenge . Crush, no crush, what is the Correct answer? Frustr8 knows she can swallow Big Bad Bactrim down, but can Precious Pouch, the Queen of this Post- SURGERY adventure, handle this medication? Have a horrid mental. image of it sitting sideways straddling my stoma, on the other side I feel like I'm "grinding" my life away!. Any Veteran of The Weight Wars want to,weigh in?😭

I’ve never crushed mine. Aside from my multi I just swallow whole. The multi I break in 2. Been doing that since day 3 when I went back o. My meds.

Same here. Have swallowed whole since 2nd day home from hospital. My program says we are allowed to swallow any meds as long as they are smaller than the bed of your pinkie nail. Otherwise cut in half. You can crush if you want or are having issues swallowing the pills. I always swallowed them all at once, 8 pills total but after surgery I dropped down to 2 pills at a time for about 2 weeks then back to normal. I had to switch a few to chewable as per my NP due to absorption ( B12, Multi with Iron and Calcium Citrate).

Does anyone have those charts for expected/average weight loss by starting weight? With different time milestones and weight loss expected (bypass)?

I’ve seen others post them and keep meaning to save it but forgot...would love to have as a reference now that I’m a couple months out!

Just thought I’d share my splurge this week. Went grocery shopping and I picked up green Beans and mushrooms 😍 I cut them up and sauté them in a pan with Kerry gold saltless butter, and a little olive oil. I seasoned with salt, pepper, and Mccormick steak seasoning. This was my favorite thing when I was pregnant :) (Ellie if you make ghee out of the butter it’s vegan! ) I like my green beans crispy still. So yummy!!

Does anyone have a Protein Shake and a Protein Bar in one day? Coming off my first stall and I’m trying to schedule my small meals every 2 - 3 hrs .... and just wondering what everyone else eats. I’m almost 7 weeks post op and my food looks like this:

Green tea
Protein shake - 30g

Light string cheese or egg - 7 g

Tuna / turkey chomp - 10 / 17 g

soft veggies

Protein and veggies

sugar free popsicle / SF jello

Drink Water / Vitamin zero / etc all day

And that’s about it gang. All approved on my plan. Thoughts? Kind ones of course :)

Can’t seem to find anything that I want to eat. Since surgery, food just doesn’t taste the same or make me feel the way I use to. I’m not excited about eating anymore. Everything I eat taste uneventful except mthe broiled salmon I make w New Orleans seafood seasoning n olive oil n cream spinach. That’s all that comes close. I use to go out a lot to brunch n dinner w friends for cocktails but not anymore. I have no desire. I have to find some new hobbies. I feel like I’m missing out but am still reminding myself why I had the surgery.

@T honestly surgery had upped my food game 😂 I’m such a foodie. Always have been, but then I got really depressed and it was fast food all the time. So now I scour Pinterest and cookbooks and magazines and food shows for recipes that are healthy!!

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
