The dr said he prefers to do RnY with patients that are 300+ lbs. I am currently 5’ 4” & 221lbs. He doesn’t feel that the rerouting of intestines is not necessary in my case.

I have both a hiatal hernia and a hernia paraesophageal. I'm have the RnY on July 16th. My surgeon is repairing both hernias during my surgery. I'm 5'1" & 209 lbs. My surgeon refused to give me the Gastric Sleeve because he stated I would have acid reflux afterwards due to the pressure the sleeve puts on your esophagus.

I had a hiatal hernia repair. According to my surgeon it was pretty big. I had some tightness in my chest for a few days. I also felt like food stuck in my throat whenever I drank or “ate” for about 3 weeks. I am 5.5 weeks out I don’t have any problems from the hernia repair anymore.

Yes I had a hernia repair. One of my symptoms was shortness of breath from it pushing up on my lungs. I felt the difference in that immediately after surgery so I know it was repaired. Haven’t had any issues.

I had a sleeve. I also had an umbilical hernia. My surgeon said to loose a good chunk of my weight, THEN have the hernia repaired. Less stress on the body, less anesthesia needed, and the stomach wall closer to final shape and less chance of the repair needing to be "Repaired".

I had the hital hernia repair when I was sleeved 6/6/18 I had a lot of pain and breathing issues after. My incision is also giving me issues. I received a steroid shot that helped 4 days post op. The hernia has been the most painful in my recovery process.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
