Did your team give you Zofran? In my case I would take the Zofran, wait 10 min, then test with a tiny sip. If it wasn't rejected, I'd try another and so on. If it's plain water you don't like, try it as Crystal Light or some such. What kind of foods can you have at this point? Can you incorporate water into them?

July 27th! Can’t wait ?

Tomorrow is my day! I'm ready. Just relieved it's finally here! Hoping I can catch up on the couch post op. Pray for me...lol;)

You got this! I know you'll do great. It will be over with before you know it. Remember to walk as much as you can, it really helps!!

My surgery was July 18... one week ago today already.

Surgery was this morning. Pain seems to be minimal right now. Gas has been manageable with the gas x chewable

Thank you for your reply! I just started taking the Zofran they gave me so I’m hoping that will help! I actually love the taste of plain water! I just started my soft foods a little early so that I could get some toast in my stomach to try to soak up any of the nausea.
lots of nausea last night, didn’t sleep very well (though i think that’s just because i’m not in my own bed) and had to get my IV switched to my other hand because it was leaking. other than that everything has gone really well! they said i could go home this afternoon or tomorrow AM depending on how i feel. how is everyone else feeling?

Got a souvenir pic of my revision...sorry if your squeamish but I thought it was pretty interesting....my stomach in the first pic looks flat because the rods had it pinned. They were able to cut out the excess dilated portion the stomach and reshape it. The first go around, the surgeon did not get as much as he should have. I call my new stomach a sausage link from the second pic :D

Cool pics! I am 10 days post op and down 18 lbs since starting my pre op diet. (8 since surgery). Feeling good but ready for real food. Very tired of this liquid diet. 6 more days then purée. Ugh.

3 days out and feeling pretty good except I've vomited 2x. Very small amount, basically a "spit up" after I took a pill and another time after 2 small sips of water. Other than those times I'm not nauseous at all. Has this happened to anyone? I'm concerned about vomiting and the pressure on the sleeve.

I wouldnt worry about it. I threw up everytime I stood up in the hospital. But just water and liquid. It goes away and I doubt it puts you at any risk. Its your body's natural response.

Surgery scheduled for the 31st. Day 3 of my pre-op diet of 800-900calories per day. I had to buy food from their store. Luckily I only have to do 1 week as I am very low energy today. Day 1 wasn’t bad, day 2 was worse, day 3 just tired.
2 days post op and doing good. Minimal pain and gas seems to be passing. I’m still having a hard time getting fluids in...and now my stomach has started spasms when I drink.

Anyone else have spasms? If so how long did they last?

Hi! I had something of the same thing when I got home. It seemed to happen more if I took too big a sip or if the fluids were icy cold. The spasms have improved over the past week(surgery was the 18th). Hope that helps, good luck to you!
