  1. Cool pics! I am 10 days post op and down 18 lbs since starting my pre op diet. (8 since surgery). Feeling good but ready for real food. Very tired of this liquid diet. 6 more days then purée. Ugh.
  2. Omg. Day 2 of liquid. 3 days until surgery. So effing hungry.
  3. I’m curious about the waistband you are referring to. Is there a medical term for them?
  4. I’m less than 7 days. Starting to get a little nervous.
  5. Yes, you’re correct. I’m in Celina. My surgery is in coldwater, a small town in mercer county. It’s been a long process leading up to this month, but I’m so excited! And a little scared. Thanks for the warm welcome!
  6. Mine is 2 weeks. 10 days of 1000-1200 calories. 4 day liquid diet.
  7. 11 days until surgery for me. On day 4 of reduced calorie pre op diet. It’s not easy at all!
  8. July 16. I too have been going through the last supper eating. I start reduced calorie July 2.
  9. Thank you so much! My next appt is May 1, then approval and schedule the date. So hopefully before Memorial Day weekend.
  10. I have an update. Got my letter today from JFS and I qualify for transitional Medicaid for at least 3 more months! As long as I can carry the same provider, I should be good to go! I may have been all worked up over nothing! (Hopefully).
  11. Yes, BCBS. And we have been engaged for 9 1/2 years, so it’s probably time.
  12. I have a friend who works in health care coming over tomorrow to look over my fiancé’s coverage. I may go to the courthouse and get married this week. Pushing my employers coverage back wouldn’t extend my Medicaid eligibility though. My new income is outside the limits. Thanks for your encouragement.
  13. I do have comorbidities but the benefits manual lists obesity surgery as an excluded service. I’m determined to figure something out. But I love my job, just not happy about this.
  14. I have been on Medicaid for 5 years as a single mom in college and then 2 years as an AmeriCorps VISTA. was referred for the sleeve in December by my family dr. Medicaid approved. Started a new job in February, insurance starts 4/27. Medicaid ends 4/30. Obesity surgery is excluded with my new coverage and I was so close! I can’t stop crying. A friend suggested I contact HR. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should say?
  15. My psych Evaluation was AWFUL! He told me I am an alcoholic and I have to attend AA. To appease him, I have stopped drinking and have gone to 2 meetings, but now I am afraid he will say I am not a candidate. So scared.
  16. My surgery will also be either end of May or beginning of June. I had no idea that going back before 2 weeks would even be an option! I also have a desk job and just started a month ago. I was dreading missing 2 weeks.
