Scrambled eggs every day for breakfast.... one batch of eggs lasts all week. This morning I added mild salsa and it was glorious even thought it was 3-4 spoonfuls

It makes a world of difference when you can eat these things.

Be careful with seeds that may be in salsa from the tomatoes. I just read a few days ago that they can get stuck in your staples and cause an infection.

Makes sense.

You guys talk of food is making me slightly hungry. Lol! I have one more week after this on the liquid diet. Not sure if I go pureed or soft foods next. Whatever it is, I'm game! So over this liquid stage.

Once I got to Stage 4 (that would be today, 2 weeks post-op) my NUT said I could have the seeds in strawberries and raspberries, also flax seed meal and ground chia seeds. I can add them to yogurt, smoothies and pureéd Soups. The added variety is simply wonderful. I will probably never eat Jello again!

the baked ricotta that everyone loves.

I guess I missed that recipe - can someone provide a link to it? Thanks!

I guess those seeds are small enough that they won't bother? Guess it's the same thing as some being able to eat mushy foods right out of surgery and others (me included) having to wait until week 3 post to start.

You can find plenty of Ricotta Bake recipes on Pinterest along with tons or other post bariatric recipes. Just type it in search and it will pull up plenty. You'll spend hours there though so be careful.

Surgery was 7/31 and I was out and back home by 3 pm. For the next 24 hours, I was only able to get in about 38 oz of Water. I get why we have to sip now. Those dry burp/heaves are no freaking joke! Yesterday afternoon, I started the Protein and water. I was able to get 30 g of protein and not as much water as I hoped. My stomach is sore AF and I've been sleep in a slightly upright position on the couch and at night I get up every 2 1/2 hours to walk for 5-10 minutes...slowly. I had to take a pain pill at 3 last night because that was as bad as I've hurt. I go in for IV therapy today and I've already got my Breakfast 6 oz of Protein Drink done.

Thanks, J - I'd forgotten to check Pinterest. You're right, you can fritter away the whole day there! It's a fascinating place to wander around, though. And yes, the differences in protocol from one program to another are amazing. I wish I knew the rationale behind all the different programs. Seems like the programs would be more standardized across the board.

I think we need to keep it as simple as possible. eggs, light mayo I think we can use a bit of mustard and pepper and make a mushy. And keep our fingers cross that our new tummy likes it

Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I added some capers to the above for a bit more flavor. It sat fine.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
