I am not a new sleever, but I have been doing the beachbody on demand videos, I love it. Right now I am challenging/killing myself and I have started with the 22min Hard Corps Boot camp series....I basically cry at the TV for 22 mins every day - lol

Follow your plans as close as possible and don't move your calories up unless explicitly told to. Your body will adjust and dip back into weight loss so don't worry about starvation mode
As seen in the actual starving masses, if you don't eat ,or don't eat enough, you will lose weight. That's is why these surgeries work (along with other metabolic changes that occur). To get you to the point where you cross beyond starvation mode and actually start consuming fat stores. It takes time and work so be patient
Google ketosis, lipolysis and the mechanisms of weight loss when you have any doubts.
    Safe Journey!

Tell them that you're having metabolic surgery. They'll probably be too embarrassed to admit that they don't know what that is. And include that one of the "side effects" of your surgery is losing weight and maybe some hair loss. (The hair loss is for a little shock value).
The best part is that this is all true. You are having metabolic surgery.

I think your absolutely right to me it’s an invasion of privacy. Example a girl friend of mine tell me something private and intimate about herself or her husband and I wait just as good to be in a room full of people and say did you guys workout that intimate issue you were having, so did the doctor give you meds to help you out with that. That’s my example and people need to mind their own gosh darn business. Tell them nothing if you don’t want to.

I feel you on starting the liquid diet. I can tell you that it does get easier. By day 3 or 4 your body should start adjusting to it. My pre op diet was 10 days and I am 9 days post op still on the liquid diet. Concentrate on your why and it should motivate you to keep going and stick with it. I barely get hungry now. Just constantly thirsty. Good luck! You can do this!

I bought the chewable Women's gummy MultiVitamins from Walmart. They tastes a little fruity. I was able to start taking them yesterday and have not experienced any problems. I also take the Liquid Calcium Citrate of 1000 mg, also from Walmart. It has the Vitamin D that I need in them. The. Vitamin B12 Sublingual tablets 500 mcg. I ended up asking my Doctor for Liquid medicine for the acid reflux. I crush all my meds and take them that way until I am cleared to take my meds whole again. Hope this helps.

I am with BeeCat. I am also on full liquids for 3 weeks. I am in my 2nd week. I go for my 2 week follow up next week and should receive my diet plan for Weeks 4-6. Just take it easy and try not to rush it.

I liked Premiere Protein shakes the best also. I added about 1/3 skim milk because they were so syrupy sweet. Costco prices were more affordable than Target. I think it's important to know what shakes you can stand to drink ahead of time. My pre-op diet was 10 days of sugar free jello, broth, shakes, sugar free popsicles, and other clear liquids. I figured I can do just about anything for 10 days. Then after surgery for 2 weeks, it was more protein shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, runny Cream of Wheat, Greek yogurt, and Cream of Tomato soup. It's kind of comical how quickly you fill up after surgery. 2 tablespoons of soup and I'd be full. I didn't like Cream of Wheat prior to surgery, but I became so bored with what few options I had, I expanded. Good luck!

Pre op, I did 4 months of low carb, high protein. Lost 45lbs. Then two weeks of liquid diet, lost 10lbs more. Premier shakes have been 2/3 of my consumption for the last 4 months. But I’m someone who could eat the same meal for every meal for years. Creature of habit. The liquid diet was an adjustment, but I stopped being miserable after day 3 and my body fully adjusted to just being tired but not feeling bad by day 7. I’m now 3 days post op. No hunger, mild pain, no nausea, biggest struggle is keeping up with meds and how gross crushed pills are. Honestly, the diet seems tough during the first few days, but if you aren’t 100% committed to a complete change, none of it is worth it. Good luck!

The first two days I didn't say it, but mentally I wont even lie, I was regretting my decision.
I was in a lot of pain the first two days. I maxed out every medication I could take. Usually I have a very high tolerance for pain - except when it comes to stomach issues. I've never dealt with stomach issues very well. I found it difficult to watch or listen to the TV and I didn't want to move from the bed. I was kept an extra night because of it.
I was walking in short bursts, but realized that walking was the best thing for me. I know they tell you that but at the time it kinda feels like they are pushing you to start exercising when you feel like you're not in the state of mind to do it. I was WRONG.
Walking was the best medicine. Once I got up and moved around, i started feeling better. I made several laps around my floor at the hospital every hour the last day I was there. The walking helped get rid of the air, which is honestly the worst part of it all and seems to cause the most discomfort. If I had forced myself to start walking sooner I may have been home a day earlier.
My point is, listen to them when they say it helps. It does, I promise. The difference in the way I feel is night and day. Its amazing!
I'm home now, trying to get on a routine so things feel more normal. I am taking my heparin injections and medications and then walking. It seems to help them go down and work faster. I am able to eat a whole Popsicle and I am able to tolerate jello and liquids beautifully. I am on the up and up and I am feeling better by the hour. I am so grateful I was able to get this done. I was 312 on Friday morning when they weighed me pre-op. I am now at 307, 4 days later. I'm looking forward to a new life of "firsts".

Hi Jess. I had my sleeve done Monday 7/23. I still feel awful, I’m in a lot of pain & it still hurts to take in liquids. I couldn’t imagine going back to work same week, I have two weeks off.
I have full liquid diet for 3 weeks so what I have home is crystal light made up (it goes down easier than water) and pre made protein shakes (premier and ensure). Also have Tylenol, stool
Softeners and heating pad (has helped w back pain from laying /sitting so much). Best of luck to you.

Today is my 3rd day Post Op. Had my surgery on Monday. Overall, I am doing good! My surgery went great! I am moving around ok. My pain level is normal. My greatest pain is the biggest insertion site. The gas pain is slowly going away. It is mostly in my chest and shoulders. Taking the chewable Gas X. I mostly slept all day once I came home from the hospital. I did not meet my protein nor liquids goal yesterday. I plan to meet it today. My biggest challenge is my meds. Getting them down in the crushed state! They are just plain NASTY!! I am happy to begin this second part of my journey and have been feeling at peace.

I was sleeved on the 23rd. I had 2 hernias that had to be repaired. I have not had trouble swallowing, but still feeling the gas pain in my chest. I walk around my apartment parking lot so it helps along with Gas X.
