According to my hospital discharge directions:

Walk 8-10 times daily for at least (a total of) 30 minutes (helps healing, nausea, gas, pain and to avoid constipation).

I was walking twice a day, slowly increasing my time up to 30 minutes twice daily by about two weeks post op. I would walk once in the morning and once in the early evening.

In addition to short walks on my block (into two near cul-de-sacs), etc., around the two-week mark, I went to big stores like Wal-Mart and Sam's (even Home Goods) etc., grabbed a cart for support, and walked the aisles...without buying anything. I felt that really helped me get my strength back, and also some easy exercise.

After surgery you want to move as soon and as much as possible. I walked immediately after waking up and walked about every two hours afterwards for the first few days (since I was not sleeping through the nights I just got up and moved)

As you fully recover the more movement the better.

Get up every hour and walk around a bit, it adds up overall. Your goals should be to walk a little more than your last time, doesn't matter if that's 1 extra step, 1 extra second, or 1 extra foot. Just do what YOU can!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
