Sunday was officially one month since my surgery. I was feeling pretty good, dealing with Constipation and some mild nausea, but otherwise active and okay. However the past five days I have regressed, my stomach hurts like the first week after surgery, and this annoying mega-pressure burp thing-happens every time I sip liquid. I was doing the burp thing my first week but I thought it resolved. I have way more nausea and I wake up every morning with my stomach aching. I started taking Nexium once a day, I am taking gas-X, but this malaise persists. And for the last two days I am struggling to get in my liquids and Protein.

I don't want to over react, call my surgeon and end up with a whole lot of unnecessary tests, so I am wondering if this regression is a common thing? Did anyone else go through this--thinking they were out of the woods only to be pulled back in?

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but this is one of those "time to call the surgeon" moments. Hope it's nothing major.

I hit a bump at 4 weeks post op. Up until then I had no issues with my stomach at all. At 4 weeks I was suddenly extremely nauseas and had a persistent stomach ache. The nausea lasted about a week. The stomach pain persisted, but was dull and gnawing, and only on an empty stomach, drinking Water exasperated it. It slowly overtime lessened and went away entirely at about 3 minths. I spoke to my surgeon, and was told it was normal, and common.

I caved and called the surgeon's office. They said it was par for the course and to call back if the pain got worse. I need to continue with the Nexium. Nice to know this is still in normal recovery range.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
