Today’s the day!!!!!

I’m an hour away from my surgery and I’m just sitting here gowned up with my thoughts. I’m so nervous and scared!

Wish me luck!!!

Hi everyone!

Thank you for all of your well wishes....I really appreciate the support.

My surgery this morning had a little complication but nothing too bad. It was supposed to last 45min but ended up taking the surgeon 2 hours. Apparently my liver was enlarged and had Cirrhosis. He ended up having to make an additional incision higher up to go around my liver and he also cleaned up my liver. I don’t understand what happened because I did the liquid diet for a week and then because of not being able to tolerate it, was switched to the alternative diet of high protein low carb. I didn’t cheat at all besides missing a few snacks (fruit) because I was too full. I lost 26 pounds since day 1 of the liquid diet.

Recovery was not too bad but the gas pains are horrible! I have walked around hoping to make them go away but it hasn’t worked.

My first meal today was some type of broth and jello. I ate some although I’m not really hungry....more just thirsty so these ice chips are a dream!

Best part: Before the surgery I was on meds for high blood pressure and diabetes. Since the procedure, my blood pressure has been great as well as my sugar levels....which means no more meds!

Ah well, that’s all for now as I enjoy my quiet time in this hospital bed. Love you guys!

Sending good vibes!! Hope it went smoothly!!

Congratulations!!! I remember those feelings all too well. You will do great. Walk, walk walk. I must have been a freak of nature because I walked as soon as I got to my room. I got help putting my shorts on got out of the hospital gown and began walking. Almost three weeks out and I'm feeling well.

If you weren't scared... I'd be curious if you were human!

Good Luck!
You got this!

Well it's so long I've been waiting, I've faced my fears, cried my tears, queried my questions ,faced my demons, called them out by name, wondered my wonders, walked and walked, longing for something to happen , instead of all this talk, Crawded feeling humbled, begging once again , if it can't get it this time, well it will be just a sin. Watched others move on by me, sometimes they gave a wave, will I get my surgery before my health turns grave? Wondering what I did wrong? I did all they said. Will I wake up , know it's finished in a bariatric bed.? Well I can't quit now, I've traveled oh so far, I'll keep on my journey until I see that shining star. Three years I've been trying, three years until the end, A long time I've been trekking but this victory I'll win. ❤????
