Belly fat :( aka Tina the talking tummy

Recommended Posts

So I will be 6 months post-op on Monday and am beginning to become very frustrated with the size of my belly and legs.. they will not shrink! I have only lost 6” off my stomach and 1” off my thighs. I see everyone else losing weight all over and my belly and legs look like I still weigh 324 lbs! :( what can I do to help this?! I already do cardio daily and strength based training every other day. Just wish they would go away. Please give me all and any advice you may have to help!

How far are you from goal weight? And how much of that do you think is actually skin? Honestly, in my particular case, my boobs and tummy were the last to go. And I've still got skin o plenty on my tummy and inner thighs

I’m about 80 lbs from goal. It’s def not skin.. there’s fat still lingering there.. it won’t go away. I’ve lost my boobs, neck and face... my arms are still bigger but have gone down.. just my belly and thighs haven’t had much of a change since I started. I go for my 6 month check up on June 15 with my surgeon, so I will also ask him what I can do.. I am just beyond frustrated.

Im also 6 months post op and im noticing that the shape you have prior to surgery is the shape you will have after just much smaller (generally) then the resculpting occurs in the gym and this is hard and takes alot of time and effort. Or plastics. Dont get discouraged you can do it!

Sadly, there isn't anything you can do to "target" fat loss, your body uses fat in it's own way, it's frustrating but really the ONLY thing you can do, is keep doing what you are, eventually it'll start to diminish. I'm with you though, my arms and lower legs are super thinned out, my gut... still sticking around.

You said you've lost 6 inches off your stomach line... that's nothing to gloss over, 6 inches is 6 inches! Just keep up the fight and sooner or later you'll see it.

Oh girl! I feel your pain! I'm in the same boat. Mine feels like its holding on for dear life. It's so frustrating. I've lost 95lbs and I've only dropped 2 pant sizes. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE :47_tired_face:

I am with you! No advice as I'm going through the same, but wanted to share a little of your pain and let you know you're not alone :) The hips weren't so bad- I've lost A LOT there (9 inches or so). The waist. like 2 inches. Eventually, when the rest is gone, the body will have to get rid of SOMETHING. Good bye, tumtum :)

I have been hitting the gym and sadly, all my fat is still here.. I’ve only been losing like 1 lb a week lately. This whole thing is frustrating me :( just glad to know I’m not alone.. I have considered even getting liposuction done on my stomach because it makes me look like I’m 40 weeks pregnant with twins. :( ugh the struggle

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
