May 30th Surgery Buddies? & 2 week liquid diet!

Hey everyone! I actually got gastric sleeve 2 years ago in March, and it was a failed surgery due to the surgeon not taking out enough of my stomach. I'm scheduled to get a revision bypass done on May 30th! Is anyone else having surgery on that date? (different hospital and different surgeon!)

Also, my doc has an extremely strict 2 weeks pre op liquid diet, where I can only drink 5 GNC lean protein shakes, black coffee, and sugar/calorie free drinks... I'm on day 2 and it sucks! Any one else have to do something like this?

Yes, I already had the sleeve 2 years ago, it was a failed surgery, the doc didn't take out enough of my stomach. I initially lost over 50lbs and went down to 180, however after the initial 6 month loss, I started to get more hungry. I was maintaining my diet but eating more food since my stomach was not a normal sleeve. Therefore, I started gaining it all back. I went back to a different doctor a year and half later, who told me it wasn't done properly the first time. Some luck I have. So now he is doing a revision to the bypass to ensure the weight stays off.

Are you going to a different surgeon this time?

Having had WLS once already, I can assure you there is nothing to be nervous about. You have been waiting countless days, weeks, months, years to be happy and healthy and YOU decided to make this change because you WANT it. Stay positive, and know you CAN do it, and it will be amazing. It will be hard at first, you will think to yourself immediately after coming out of surgery "why did I do this to myself" but after a few days, weeks, etc. the weight will start falling off, you will have more confidence, you will be able to move better, gain strength back and your mood will change. There is a time of depression and sadness, but after that ends, you will feel on top of the world!!!

It's a week today!!

The time seems to be going pretty slowly though :)

I am may 29 can’t seem to find anyone going in on the same date

Another surgery buddy here! May 29th...only 6 days away at this point!

The time is dragging- I am trying to keep busy. Weight is going down steadily on this milk diet though! If I could keep it up for 6 months maybe I wouldn’t need the surgery!?

Yes but if you suddenly start mooing or develop small horns, you definitely have enough of the milk diet. Are you,in a Commonwealth country by Chance? It seems like the UK and it's former children have this kind of diet before surgery. Hey if it works, it works!?

@ Sherry0401, if you happen to read this, Happy Surgery Day, may you heal, quickly and have a beautiful life ahead!?✌?

Hey everyone,

How are you all doing? I'm on day 10 of the pre-op diet - for the past 3 days I have felt very tired! I work full time, long hours, and I am finding it hard to concentrate at work. Just feeling exhausted all the time.

Anyone else the same? I'm wondering if I might actually be a bit ill, or if this is just a side effect of the diet.
