Woke up choking on bile!

Recommended Posts

So I’m two weeks post-op and had no major complications, just had gas pain first week. This morning I woke up choking on bile and had to run and spit it up, my throat is on fire as well. I just realized that I must of accidentally rolled on to my stomach, but I’m not sure how long I was sleeping on it. Has this happened to anyone and what did you do?

If your throat is burning it might be reflux. Lying flat allows that acid to wash back up to your throat.

Sit up or prop yourself up in bed. Start sipping Water gently to reduce the acid" fire' in your throat. My grandmotherly advice would be to sip a little milk to set t le things down or take a Tums, if you're still feeling miserable after the sun rises, call your doctor's office and check in with them.❤and a Hug!

It happens to me if I eat too close to bedtime. I can’t go to sleep with a full stomach anymore.

I see the original poster, is no longer with us (no she didn't die LOL")

but talking about reflux is always important, newbies need help - answers

Awful, awful, awful!! That terrible burning sensation!!I also was woken up with

that burning, terrible feeling - I immediately sat up - went to fridge, and grabbed

a slice of bread - had about 3 bites - this helps a bit - take prescribed med or

tums. For me - continuing to lay on back would be awful.

good luck

kathy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
