Got my approval. When I started this in November I thought I'd be done with the surgery by now. Cigna only required 3 months of doctor/NUT visits. I did my psych eval in January. At the end of February I was ready to go. Went to get my thyroid tested and it came back too high. I have a thyroid condition but I take meds and it's usually under control. The one time I really needed for it to be right it was totally wacky. Doc adjusted my meds and I had to wait a month to retest. Month goes by we retest and now it's too low. Cigna requires that your TSH be within the normal limits. We adjust the meds again and wait another month to retest and it's still too low. We adjust the meds again and I assumed I would be waiting yet another month, but my PCP is the best. He suggested WLS and was becoming more frustrated than me. He would've submitted after the first retest, but my surgeon said we shouldn't risk a denial by the insurance because the appeals process is brutal. But after the 2nd retest my PCP got with my surgeon and they decided to submit to the insurance anyway with an explanation about the thyroid. It took less than a week to hear back from Cigna that I got approved. I'll have my RNY on June 26th. YAY!!!

Great news. I have Cigna too. Once you jump through all of their hurdles it's smooth sailing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
