Liquid Diet: hungry hot fatigued nauseous and can’t breathe

Recommended Posts

Today from 5-7PM around the time I eat dinner I started to freak out. My chest felt heavy, my blood pressure felt low and I got a hunger attack. I felt so sick and so nauseous! Also for a split sec I forget I’m not allowed to eat and I think of what I’m going to eat because I’m hungry and then it hits me that I won’t be eating. I hate feeling like this so out of control. Idk how everyone else is making it through this all liquid diet while still having your hunger and desire to eat but for me it’s kicking my a$$! I can’t imagine how the ones who work and are doing the pre op diet can do it and I admire and respect you because I don’t think I could! [emoji30][emoji24]

It's ok to feel crappy and cranky. ;)

I still maintain that the liquid diet two weeks before, and the restricted diet two weeks after surgery....were much much worse than the surgery itself.

For me, anywho:)

You're not alone.

Same same here!! I’m finding it super hard. Energy is low. Feeling very cranky and crappy even on day 5!

But trying to remind myself that it’s just my body detoxing! Can’t wait to feel better!! I am reading through out the forum pre-opt and seemed very normal, and seemed to be a light at the end of this tunnel ;)... so one day at a time, one shake at a time, it will get better :)

When the hunger hits, grab a Protein Shake in place of food and remind yourself it’s nourishment and nourishment is what you need to keep pushing on. Every time the urge hit me, I got creative and found a replacement for my craving. I made a spicy vegetable Soup with Protein broth and strained the broth so I could consume just the liquid. That was great for lunch and dinner when I wanted a hot meal. I hated Premier shakes, but I found that I could tolerate the Muscle Milk “knockout chocolate”- 32 G protein and Protien2o tropical coconut Water 15 G protein. Those are my liquid diet staples. Try a yogurt, Jello, popsicle, or sugar free pudding if the urge hits! I always made sure I packed a lunch bag full of things I could consume for my hours away at work. Unfortunately the 2 week prediet is just the beginning! Once you have surgery, water and variations of liquid will be all you can have for the next two weeks. I tried a creamy broccoli soup yesterday and that was so delicious! I can’t wait to have real substance no matter how small it may be.

Good Luck!!! Remember it’s a head game and your in control! Nourishment is key, not indulgence!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
