That is really informative thank you. I guess it just threw me off since my last nutritionist appt she showed me a plate (it was the typical size of an appetizer or dessert/childs plate and said that is about the size meal i would eventually be eating so i guess, as time goes by your new stomach stretches? But until then yes chewing and taking breaks definitely. It must be hard to get enough Water daily just taking tiny sips! That will be difficult for me i drink a ton of Water even before considering surgery I did, and i drink it fast. I have to break that habit!

That plate of food is what my nutritionist said I would be eating at 6 months. I'm still only about 1 ounce of solid food at a time and I'm 2 months out. In the beginning, not only is your pouch small, but it is swollen. You've just done terrible, mean things to it! Everyone heals at their own rate, some in 2 weeks, some in 6. Eventually, your pouch will stretch out, but from what I've heard, to a max of about 10 ounces - way below the 100 ounce stomach you may have now.

I'm 3 weeks out and I like cubed tofu with a little sesame oil and garlic salt, or a piece of provalone cheese with a paper thin slice of prosciutto inside. Lots of Protein. I agree with the poster above, making food is weird for a while because your idea of what your portioning will be like is totally new. You can do it!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
