Let me at your DH for not setting boundaries.

This is his family, so there are no boundaries as far as he is concerned (at least, none that I can tell).

She is, Slim. But I have to also agree with MacMadame, shame on DH for not setting boundaries so that YOUR home is a safehaven for YOU. It's the one place you should feel the most comfortable, and between the two of them, it appears that will not happen.

She is the epitome of rudeness. Doesn't even speak to you, acknowledge you, or have anything to do with you, yet she has no problem making herself completely comfortable in YOUR home.

Lawdy, girl, she better be glad I'M not her DIL. I don't think I could have gone as long as you without telling her to pack sand toot sweet. That is YOUR home, dammit. Unless she's invited -- BY YOU -- she's not welcome. Period.

Then it sounds as if you will need to set them. Like yesterday.

What is it with these wimpy guys? If it was MY MIL, I'd probably be in the same boat.

He is still trying to win the love and approval of a mother that wasn't there for him as a child. He seems to bend over backwards to please her or not offend her. He talks a good game to me about it, but when it comes down to it, she is still his mother.

i hate clocks - other than the coldplay song. this has been going on for a while w/DH and i....i refuse to change the clocks, thinking it bothers him, nope i married my twin regarding time management.

i have not had a good wk food wise & have an appt monday for a fill .... i have an attitude adjustment right afterwards:tt2:

OK how do you live half of a year or whatever on the wrong time??? Dork! re: attitude adjustment....promise?!?

slim tell your MIL that a can of Beans is cheaper than hungry man jack tv diners:) and have one for her tomorrow:ohmy:

LOL or how about not feeding her at all?!? Unbelievable gall, this woman.

I am really lucky that at 56 I have no grey hair. I am really worried about losing more hair when I have the sleeve surgery. I can't afford to lose anymore. The stuff that's growing in is growing back curly though. very strange.

Understatement of the week!

That's too bad; I do feel for him but a husband shouldn't put his mother before his wife every time, dangit.

Miss one day and have 4 pages to catch up on. I'm officially caught up.

I've been facebooking up a storm lately.

I've been mobbing up a storm lately. It's practically taken over my life!

I have some exciting news, well, for me anyways. I have a date scheduled for my revision to the sleeve. I leave here on April 1st and will have my surgery with Dr. Aceves on April 2nd and return back home on the 5th. I am so excited. I go next week for a complete unfill. Then, seven days before my surgery I am on liquids only. Wish me luck guys!!

Good luck!

No gray hair at 56 can only mean one thing - no children to turn it gray!

My mom is almost 60, and I have as much, if not more, gray hair than she does. None of my family members grayed early. My late grandmother only had gray at her widows peak and around her temples. My other grandmother has it only at her temples. The rest is jet black. I am not sure what part of the family I am digging this white hair up from, but hopefully my chemical bottle will keep it at bay.

Maybe you were a special delivery from the milk man?

Actually I do have kids. My dad will be 90 and my daughter will be 28 both on April 1st. My dad has no grey hair either. He's a little bald, but not grey!

Chilly morning everyone! Furnance went last night - DH has eliminated ignition, electrical and gas line problems; the work continues. Temp inside and outside are not much different - and it is literally freezing today!

I had a productive day yesterday - washing floors; ironing (I avoid doing it until there is no alternative); made a few desserts; downloaded a dozen few movies; and watched a few movies. Today is preparing for company to dinner (meal and another dessert or two); dusting; starting to collect stuff for tax-time (grrr#%); maybe touch-up paint a few nicks on a few walls (how DO they get there?); assorted other household chores...the usual routine.

Gray hairs - mother in her late 80's has only a few strands; my sister and I started going gray in our 20's. I have added highlights etc to try and conceal them whilst sister has gone au natural. I think it is time for me to concede defeat and let them be - EXCEPT for those in eyebrows, chin, etc. My BFF went white by 35 and it looks stunning on her; maybe gray will be the same for me?!?!?

Have a good day all..

tap- I don't know how you do it. Would you come and do that around my house? I promise to keep it clean.:)

Donna-I have asked my mom many times if I was adopted, or if someone else was my father. She told me that if I was or if someone else was my dad, it will go with her to her grave.

Good morning everyone!

The stuff that's growing in is growing back curly though. very strange.

I'm a cancer survivor and my hair grew back curly. The thing is I didn't lose all my hair. I lost a round patch on the back of my head. I was able to hide it by pulling my hair back. So i wonder if this might not be similar.

A friend of mine had breast cancer and her hair came back really curly too!

That is odd, I have heard of many people who lost there hair from chemo, and when it came back, it was curly. I wonder what causes that?

As for the evil MIL, well, I am with Beth. I would have kicked her to the curb in a hurry. My first husband was the biggest mama's boy ever, it drove me nuts.

I lost all my hair due to chemo and when it grew back it grew in thicker and curlier - think little lamb's curls - and darker and greyer. It is so thick that it has no room to lie down and so it is growing straight up on my head

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
