So FB has a really long memory. I signed up once a few years ago then deactivated the account. I couldn't sign up under a fake name with my email address because it already existed. Now what do I do? I had everything set as private to keep family and old school "friends" from finding me, but does that really work?

I guess my real question is, how do I get my info on FB to you all without letting the people that I don't want contacting me on there know that I am on there.

Just make a new gmail account. I have one that I only use for logging on to some sites. That way it doesn't have the email that I really use - hardly ever check it to be honest!

You can put the info on fb that you want and you are good to go. You don't have to list high school or college info. I don't think you have to sign up for networks either.

FB is fun! I had all my former DECA students as "friends" when I first started now I am branching out to LBT friends and some high school friends. I also love farming - Diva got me into Sorority Life too!

On the subject of the wisdom teeth, I will remember to go get the pain meds before we go home. I have to pick up her valium a day or so before, so I will see if I can get the pain meds too! Save me a trip.

Michelle ~ Yeah on DH being home! I bet DD was so happy this morning when you went to pick him up! Have a wonderful family day!!!

TPG ~ Hope your party is great today!

PJTP: Had a great run this morning. It was slow going after getting bucked off, but after the first mile I loosened up and did the 5.2 miles at a decent pace. Almost up to race distance! Yeah!

I am now feeling lazy, but have a ton of stuff on my to-do list that never got done! One more week and back to school!!!!

slim, you didn't have to delete your post:)

ktork - awesome on your run. DH and i got to the gym, and all we wanted was to go to lunch. but roughed it out, anyway then had a GREAT lunch.

hit pet smart on the way home, got some doggie toys - then came home and everyone got a bath. our kennel is built w/french drains so it's like a car wash for dogs.

down for the day w/a nap..... bbl

I wanted to turn back on my run before the end of the first mile! But just stuck with it, so I know that feeling:wink2: Glad you had a nice lunch!

New doggie toys, I am in need of that! I was thinking that last night when the two youngest dogs were fighting over a tug toy! I would love to have a set up that made it easy to wash the pups! Of course, mine are all little, so they fit in the sink! And, yes I do bleach and scrub when I am done!!!

A nap sounds nice - might try to fit that in.

Wish they had given me valium before my extraction. I was a bundle of nerves going in. Of course, they put me to sleep for it, so I shouldn't complain.

That is great that you were able to get your run in after the fall. I really envy you runners!

DS would be so envious of your school system. He has been back in school almost 2 weeks now.

I felt like I did. I have complained too much but have not done anything to change the situation.

~Hi SNT!!! Long time, no see! I miss you when you're gone!!

~DH is back at his station! WhooHoo!! He has relief coming in tomorrow for him so he SHOULD be off at 8AM! I say SHOULD b/c it IS fire season and anything can happen overnight or early AM.

We went and saw him after dinner tonight. DD was SO happy! It was great! When we had to leave, she started to get teary. She was afraid that she wouldn't see him again. It's so hard on the little ones! When she's a teenager and he's retired tho, she's gonna be hatin' life! LOL!!!!

Aww thanks!

Soooo happy that DH may be getting a reprieve soon.

ROFL about him being home when she's a teenager. I already feel for her!

*slim i had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last summer - worst experience as i got dry socket in the 2 bottom ones...liquid lortab was my BF!!

re- facebook; brandy created an alias to sign on at first - you don't have to use your real name, and those who you don't want to "find" ya - can't. just a thought

*need to get to the gym, rather that then clean the kitchen or do laundry... happy sunday!!!

Don't scare Slim!

No one from my HS has found me b/c I haven't keyed in my HS name. Plus you can always say "no" to people's friend requests that you don't want around (except me, of course!).

DANGIT, I need to do laundry too...had forgotten.

FB won't let you change your name that goes with your email account? I know a friend has changed hers as did Brandy.

I'm sure it would have, but I was unsure how to proceed. I just started over. You all are going to have to teach me about the FB evilness. I am not sure I can handle it, but you all keep leaving and going there! You have left me very little choice. **stomping my foot**

OK men, FYI, this is a TMI post.

PJTP-Why on earth should a sport bra make you look fatter?!?!?! Ok, so I bought new sports bras yesterday (not that I am actively doing any sports). I wear them most times because a) they are easier to deal with and  they control the floppy girls better for work than my other bras (I'm sure it has to do with the fact that I haven't bought new bras since weight loss). Ok, back to the story. I bought new bras yesterday. I can only assume this is how they are supposed to fit, but they squeeze the girls in to where they almost meet my belly! That is so not sexy!

lol...it isn't so bad once you get the hang of it! Don't forget to friend me...

I am exhausted. Been at the ER all day with Faith. She is miserable. Tooth and chest infection. I hate seeing my baby sick.

Friend request coming your way. :glare:

PJTP...ya'll have been busy!

Just here for a couple of minutes while I cook dinner - broiling chicken breast for chicken caesar salads...light but filling and healthy for all concerned.

My DD is looking into the band - we're going to a nearby support group meeting the third week of September. She's seeing my results and wants them for herself. Now we just gotta convince DH that it'll be okay...he's against it for her right now.

Slim - take it slow on FB...you can always PM us your username so we can 'friend' ya. Like you, I dislike sports bras - they give me a 'uniboob' - no separation whatsoever. I feel like a solid lump when I wear one. Haven't found a really good one for full-figured gals yet.

BBK - Hope Faith is feeling better - prayers for her full recovery. I went through a bad time with my teeth several years ago - dull, aching pain I couldn't get away from...arrgggh!

SicknTired - glad you came to visit us! Like others said - we miss ya! :glare:

krtork - good going on the run! I extend my distance tomorrow morning. Gonna see if I can run my entire course without a stop, then the week after I'll extend my distance again...woo hoo!

TPG - you cracked me up with the dust off the computer thing...thanks for the giggles. I remember my pre-surgery diet - not all liquids, but I still felt like I wanted to bite everything that went past my nose. Remembering how much I wanted this helped...you're gonna be so happy once you're in bandland!

Heartfire - hope DH gets to come home really soon. I know my DD missed her dad when he was on deployments...when we'd go to the store she'd grab random guys in working blues (denim pants, blue shirt - Navy issue) and say "Da?" then get confused and upset when it wasn't her daddy. Took me a while to convince her they weren't all "Daddy". Made for some funny episodes in the grocery store though, when the poor guy's wife gave him the hairy eyeball...:tt2:

Everyone have a wonderful Sunday evening!:scared2:

Slim~ you will be up and rolling in no time on FB! It will be great to see you there! You will have to start farming:thumbup:

DD has to have the valium, she has a huge fear of needles and I have had to tackle her in the doc office to get an IV in! Now remember that the girl is 6' tall and plays sports, she's no dainty flower. She was so nervous about being put under and having the IV she started tearing up and crying during the appt. So she gets a valium for the night before and 1 hour before she comes in.

Teachers are back on the 31st and kids on the 8th. He may be envious, but he will be out earlier in the spring, when we are dying to get out the door!!

Sports bras are not meant to be flattering! Unfortunately the uniboob helps control the bounce. I would suggest that you go get a nice new bra!!! It is amazing what it can do for the girls!

BBK~ Sorry to hear about your DD, that is no fun when kids are sick. Try to get some rest! Hopefully she is feeling a bit better!

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
