Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!

I would love to make some surgery buddies now so we can go through all the pre-op requirements together and stick through surgery and beyond. Anyone else already know their surgery will occur this summer?

My surgery is going to fall in the July or August time frame. Most of this is dependent upon checking all my surgeon's boxes, the rest is dependent upon my financing since I'm self-pay. I'll be getting the sleeve.

I love my surgeon and feel really lucky to have found him. So far the pre-op stuff has gone smoothly, but I am just at the beginning stages. I've scheduled all my evals and classes and attended my first weight loss class last week. I found it to be mildly helpful. It was certainly geared more toward those that hadn't already read through the surgery binder and/or those that had no clue what healthy eating consisted of. I'm hoping future classes focus more on the post-op eating.

My first visit with my PCP about this surgery is next week as that's the soonest I could get in to see her. I'm hoping she'll be supportive as my surgeon knew of her when I told him that's who I see. But if I have to find another PCP so be it.

My first dietician appt is next week and psych eval is the week after that. I only have to get these three meetings out of the way to schedule my surgery. So I'm anxious to get that done!

I'm excited to hear from others along the same timeline as me!

I have essentially NO appetite on the liquid diet. This is the end of week 2 and I can barely tell when I need to drink a shake, oddly enough.
It’s finally here- I go to the hospital tomorrow morning for my gastric sleeve surgery! Strange mixture of anxiety and excitement. All prayers and good vibes appreciated!!!! See ya on the losers bench!
I had my sleeve surgery on august 6th. At time of surgery I was 370 today I am down to 351. This is 6 days post op. I’m CRAVING a slice of pizza soooo bad... lol I’m also having trouble finding a good protein shake. I’m an extremely picky eater and have a problem with texture. Any hold would be appreciated. Thanks!

You’ve got this! Sending prayers and positive vibes! See you on the post op side ?
My favorite is the premier chocolate , caramel and cookies and cream. You can mix some fat free fair life milk into it if it’s to sweet or thick

The most popular shakes are the premier ones. So many different flavors. But if you have a texture problem (I feel your pain). Maybe you need to find a protein powder and mix it to your liking with your liquid of choice (milk or water). Best wishes!

Woo Hoo Ladies - I'm nearly 12 hours away from my surgery. I have to check in at 5:30am so I'm going to go to bed as early as possible tonight. I did one final kickboxing workout this morning so hoping that will help put me to sleep later on.

I've been wrapping up all sorts of errands to get things done before my surgery. Grocery shopping and meal planning for the family is done. Did a bunch of laundry and left some instructions for the hubby. I'm so grateful that I can afford someone to clean my house and they'll be coming while I'm in the hospital so I get to come to a completely clean and clutter free home.

Ready to go!!!
