  1. Hi Everyone! It has been a while. I'm now about 88 lbs down, but have been stuck losing and gaining the same 5 pounds since January. A bit frustrated, but that's where I am with it. This year has been incredible. My confidence has grown, as has my energy level. I still have about 50 lbs to go before I reach my ideal weight. I don't know if that's plausible at this point, but I'm hopeful. In an effort to boost my loss, I've gone back to very low carb, high protein and have increased my activity a HUGE amount. Hopefully it pays off.
  2. Hi everyone! I kind of disappeared for a while due to family/work stuff. WE FINALLY MOVED! The new house is lovely and in a quiet neighborhood. Everything else is good. I dislocated my finger last month, so I haven't been able to get back in the gym. Mostly just walking/yoga/aerobic tapes lately. I noticed I did have a bit of the addiction transfer happening, but it isn't a negative addiction. Now, I've started chewing sugar free gum almost constantly to compensate for my food addiction being gone. I have about 5 different flavors of gum in my purse right now. 🤣
  3. Hi everyone. After a tough recovery, I have returned to work this week. It's an adjustment. I'm REALLY tired by noon and having a hard time concentrating. I've got a timer set to do a couple laps around the building every hour and a half. I haven't been doing great with my liquids. It's hard to get everything in, but protein has been fine. I'm hoping things improve.
  4. I have essentially NO appetite on the liquid diet. This is the end of week 2 and I can barely tell when I need to drink a shake, oddly enough.
  5. Weird question, but did you have your procedure done at Borgess? This is my plan exactly and I'm REALLY struggling through Day 4 . Lol.
  6. Yes. Usually for me that means my electrolytes aren't balanced. Drink some broth and double check the amount of magnesium in your vitamins. A quick fix for me is Powerade Zero when this happens.
  7. Good Morning All! Congratulations and good luck to everyone that's on/heading to the Loser's Bench this week! Day 2 of pre-op diet today. I'm full liquids, so that's 5 protein shakes, 50 calories of clear liquid, 1 cup of strained soup/yogurt/pudding. I'm very tired and have a headache. I'm hoping the fog clears soon.
  8. Hugs to you and your family @Ylime. Take all the time you need. We'll be here! Pre-op testing was yesterday. Our entire office is moving across town on Friday and I'm so stressed right now. All hell is breaking loose and I'm still trying to pack. 3 days until liquid diet. Pre-op appointments are 8/8 and 8/9.
  9. Good Morning Everyone! I had my pre-op diet class yesterday afternoon, so everything is moving along as expected. Unfortunately, the hospital pharmacy is out of the Impact Advanced Recovery shakes, so I'll have to travel a bit to get them. As I'm a planner, I need to have my ducks in a row no later than Tuesday or I'll feel panicky. Liquid diet starts July 29th!
  10. @Ylime I’ve been on it for years. I’ve never had a problem and never had any weird side effects. I sleep deeply and feel rested. :)
  11. I've been struggling all week so far. No clue what the problem is. I even slept 7 hours last night, which is practically unheard of. I'm guessing it's because I haven't taken my Ambien and haven't had a really deep sleep in about a week.
  12. They want you to follow your normal routine to get an accurate idea of what sleep is like for you. I take Ambien every night and was told to do so for my hospital sleep study because it is my normal routine.
  13. Good Morning All! I'm still working on prepping for surgery day. Right now, my schedule is planned out, and I'm just playing the waiting game. Liquid Diet Class-7/19 Pre-Surgical Testing-7/23 Start liquid diet-8/1 Pre-Op Surgical Appointment and Heart/Lung Check-8/8 Pre-Op Dietitian Appointment-8/9 I'm still working out what to buy, most of which I'll have a better idea of after the liquid diet class next week. I'm testing out different protein powders this week to figure out which one mixes with my bone broth best. Trying to find one that won't clump as badly in warm liquid.

    Family support

I had something similar with my dad. The rest of the family was immediately very supportive, including my husband. I am a daddy's girl, though so I knew my dad and I would have to have a sit-down discussion. We are very close and he is nervous. My surgery is about a month away and it has gotten better now that he knows the time is drawing close and can see how much work I've done to prepare. It would maybe be a good idea to talk about why she's suddenly feeling this way. Maybe she's scared too? My dad wanted to talk to my surgeon, so I made an appointment just for them to sit and my dad could ask questions. He found it informative and it eased his concern a bit more. He's still scared, but isn't trying to dissuade me any more.

    My Poor Butt :(

I was not aware this should be a concern of mine and now I'm terrified.

Where does everyone live? (General area)

Sit down jobs. Oh no!!! HELP

I have a sedentary job as well and have been stumped when figuring out how to work in more activity. I park further away, as suggested and have taken the stairs, but I'm still sitting at a desk for 6+ hours. I recently found a program I downloaded to my work computer called Big Stretch Reminder. I have it set to go off every hour, so I can do a quick walk around our office and then get back to work. I love it so far. It's nice to step away from my desk for a while.
  18. Same here. Hyperinsulinemia and PCOS.
  19. HI Everyone! Congratulations to those who have had their surgery already! Good luck to those who are coming up this week. I've got about another month and a half to go. Trying to plan work around my leave has been tough. I work in public health (specifically maternal/child), and summer is our busiest time of year with all the new births! I'm stressed, plus our offices are moving about 2 weeks before my surgery. Feeling a bit overwhelmed. So far, I've been doing well with my eating. I missed workouts all week, though. My kids are both sick, so I've been trying to rest in between taking care of them. I made it a point to get up and do a lap around our building every hour though, so hopefully that's giving me a little bit of a boost.

    Fit Bit anyone???

    I do! Wrybeauty@gmail.com
  21. I'm working on the same thing. I'm still taking the Metformin, although just lowering my dosage has helped. I've increased my activity, started drinking diluted apple cider vinegar in the morning, and started a chromium supplement.
  22. I did on Saturday! There were a couple of very pretty Modcloth dresses that I came across. They're only a size or two smaller than I am now, so I'm being conservative.
