Coroner bellowed HOW MUCH WEIGHT HAVE YOU LOST at me the other day. Good move, doing that in front of the head of HR.

Coroner? What on earth do you do for a living?

Oh Abe, if I had be there I would have laughed and cried at the same time. And Orchid and Dragons, been there, had that done to me. That's why the other poster and her thigh grab resonates with me. Finally got a tshirt(yeah me and my tshirts!) read I AM NOT MERELY FAT I AM VERY PREGNANT TOO, got it at a Motherhood store in Columbus, 2 or 3 of my cousins asked to borrow it, last one never retuned it. Like you said-My Rotten Relatives! Haven't seen her for years now, but I can just hear her now " What do you want it back for? You're old now" She was a daughter of my first cousin. Don't know if I mentioned it yet but my parents were old by the standard on Daddy's side, 30 and 27, yeah girls on that side got pregnant 15,16 years old so most of my first cousins have kids my age, Daddy was #6or7 in the family tree. Another of my name's for them "Southern. Fried Stupid" well they would have to be if they didn't sense my innate wonderfulness!
Well up to face the day, feel like Spring might stay although it got down to 45 last night, fool, furnace clicked back on. Wanted to yell down the register "Hey it's May already, just quit that!" Yeah back to yelling at inanimate objects, sad isn't it?
Guess I'll go read some more postings, maybe somonebelse needs a shot,of my humor!

My 78 year old aunt and I were discussing my upcoming surgery a couple of months ago and I was explaining what actually happens (removing 80% of my stomach through a hole in my abdomen). We talked for a bit and then she asked "soooo, what do they do when you are done losing the weight, put in back in through the same hole?" I was laughing so hard it was difficult to answer. Gotta love her!!

Yes, Auntie! I'll keep it in the deep-freezer until then!

Wonder if her aunt would suggest, they take the stamples out after my RnY. Shoot,, I'm not planning any more surgeries on the same area. FYI,i could have had the plate and 12 screws removed from below my right shoulder several years ago.,My,ortho said so.,,,,,
1 This would be additional surgery? Answer Yes but I could do it on an Ambulatory basis this time.
2. Would I have a surgical wound to recover from? Answer Yes I'd excise the old scar and then resuture it there.
3. Would it be any stronger for you doing this? Answer No not a bit stronger.
Told him to put his danged scalpel away, it can stay as it is, if someone would murder me(don't my mind run to weird thoughts) and throw me in a vat of lye they would be able to identify me since I no longer have my natural teeth.
Another weird FYI, in the state of Ohio a dentist cannot legally return extracted teeth to you, even though they were yours? They are considered slightly radioactive, a biohazard and they have to be disposed of in such a manner.
My son (the Tomkitten, named this because my 1st pen name on Bariatric Pal was kkkatlady) has a weird detition pattern in his upper jaw, he has 1 lateral incisor,on the right and 3 on the left instead of the average 2-2, I wish I had told them to make my upper denture the same instead of the traditional. I think its cute, but then doesn't every mother feel that way about their babies?

I've gotten a lot of "don't lose anymore weight"... as if I could actually stop right now. One person also took me aside and quietly asked if everything was all right and if I'd been sick.

My brothers wanted to see my loose belly and arm skin over Easter...to tease me about it. We're in our 40's/50's. My family has a very twisted self deprecating sense of humor, and a couple of them work in health care. (and yes, I showed them...just to make them flee in horror..lol) Have to say though, one of them said....that's not too bad! And told me I didn't need plastic surgery. Which I took as an extremely odd.....could only happen in my family....compliment.

🤣🤣🤣🤣Is it weird that I 100% understand this is a compliment? I’m sure I will be hearing these exact words in about two months! Lol. Congratulations on your WLS!

I know this isn't a weird comment, but I still love the fact that people that I have known for many years still don't recognize me 16 month post op. I have always hated (and still hate) being the center of attention.

I saw a friend today for the first time since surgery (11 days ago), and she looked confused when she saw me. She said, “You don’t really look different,” and I told her it will take a while for me to lose enough weight that I’ll look significantly different. It turns out she thought that in weight loss surgery, fat is actually removed from your body like massive liposuction and was confused by my appearance. Lol.

According to my former Bariatric Surgeon I am 180 pounds too heavy for my height. Sweet Mother Magnolia can you imagine the size of the industrial vacuum🗿 it would take for liposuction on me? It does boggle the mind, doesn't it?😝

I started with about 240 pounds of excess weight, so I totally get it!

I’ve got about 200lbs excess. 110lbs more to go.

That is awesome! Congratulations! As of today, I’ve lost 100 of my 240 excess (92 were lost pre-op). I don’t know that I will lose all 240—that seems too good to be true. I would be thrilled to lose 200.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
