Blended Shakes and Swallowing Air

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else notice that with a blended shake or Protein smoothie that they end up swallowing too much air? It seems like I need to take a Gas-X every time I mix up a shake.

Yes. My RD told me not to do that cuz of added air and gas/swelling in tummy. Also some powders are foamier. Syntrax Nectar is pretty foamy.

So I make mine ahead when I make them and let them sit.

My nutritionist said the same, if you do blend, make them the night before and let them settle.

I never used the powdered shakes because they seemed to thick for me. Instead I drink light vanilla ensures through the day. They are only 70 calories a bottle. They are pre mixed and not thick at all. You can fink they in any rite aide or cvs for about $10 for a six pack. Their are some drinks you can find at Walmart too similar to ensure or muscle milk, but are in lower calories so you can drink more in a day. They come in vanilla chocolate strawberry and banana . Even a sunflower blend pre mixed drink. They taste great and can be brought for about $6 for either a six pack or four pack . I can't remember the name completely I think it's Premier Protein. All walmarts have it . And you won't feel gassy or bloated after... Good luck

I use Syntrax with no adverse affect. I have learned to put the Fluid in the shaker cup before the powder so that it does not get foamy. Love the chocolate Truffle

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
