I saw the surgeon today for final pre op meeting. I told him my concerns about my head/neck being back too far throughout the surgery. The first time I told him about this he just said "speak to the anesthesiologist" about it. Today, I told him I can't go through with the surgery if that's how I have to be throughout so I FINALLY got an answer to my question!!! I said "I know you're not the anesthesiologist, but you must have seen how people's heads/necks are positioned during the surgery. He told me that they only have to pull my head and neck back when the put the intubation tube down my throat (only a few minutes) and after that my head is straight throughout the rest of the surgery. YAY!!!!! I can't possibly tell you how relieved I am. Now I can relax and focus on pre op diet and getting what I need for the surgery. 5/3/18. Two weeks from tomorrow!

Have you gotten your date yet?! I have my appt with the surgeon on Friday and I’m anxious to find out how far out they will schedule me.

Hi Everyone!! I finally got my call from the doc office and I am officially scheduled for 5/21 for surgery and 5/2 for my pre op appt. I think my doc requires a 2 week Liquid Protein diet. Is that what everyone is doing? I am excited to get this party started! I can't wait to get my health back on track! Anyone with lower BMI (<37)?

Tenative May 7 date for me. I’ve been stalking this page for a while, but figured I’d sign up when I got my surgery date. I’m waiting for a peer to peer review before my insurance company will cover me. Fortunately my Surgeons staff has been very helpful in letting me schedule before we get final approval. This process has been considerably longer than I expected going in. I guess the additional time has given me the opportunity to do all the research I needed to make sure I’m making the right choice.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
