Marchies in Nov. (The Month of The Turkey)

Recommended Posts

Dem, jmc made some good points.

It's not a race or a compitition. Don't worry about what someone else has done. You can only be concerned with yourself.

Make small changes if big ones seem too much. Eat a few less Cookies, drink only calorie free beverages, walk a few steps more. If you can't see a shrink get a notebook and start writing down your thoughts, goals and setbacks. Sometimes getting out helps us get past what's blocking our progress.

And most of all keep coming this board and looking around...keep a few toes in the game.

Hugs.

I sometimes wonder if its because we're not posting as much anymore...It always motivated me to read how everyone else is doing.

I sometimes wonder if its because we're not posting as much anymore...It always motivated me to read how everyone else is doing.

That could be--hadn't thought of it but maybe people aren't posting because they aren't doing as well and they aren't doing as well because they aren't posting? Hmm. Vicious cycle?

It could be, though, that everyone has settled into band life and just don't have the need for as much support or aren't taking the time because they are just living life with the band.

But, the Marchies threads have never been as active as so many other threads on this site--that's been a complaint of many from the beginning it seems. Well, I don't know but it would be nice to hear from people! It really is a great support when people use it as such.

Thanks for sticking it out, all you old faithfuls!

Hello fellow Marchies...

I am one of the Marchies that doesnt post much. I read everything and am inspired by what other people write. I wanted you guys to know that some of us are still here.

I am celebrating a nice round number of weight loss today...70 pounds down and gone forever thanks to my band and the support from great bandsters.

Okay, Okay, I'll step away from the cookies!

I think I'm heading in the right direction, started keeping my food/activity diary again on fitday a few weeks ago.

I told the kids that mommy isn't allowed to eat candy and Cookies any more, so go hide the rest of your halloween candy!

I appreciate everyone's input and stories and inspiration.

Last year at this time I was on high blood pressure medicine, had a BMI of 41 and was miserable.

Let's all look back and see how far we've come and be thankful we are not still there.

Tallgirl, congrats on the loss...70lbs is AWESOME!!!

I think thats what I was trying to get at, but never did. This thanksgiving is going to be so different from last year. I got rid of 42lbs and feel better than ever. I think that even though some of us are in a rut, and I'm definately one of them, we have a lot to be thankful for. I love my band and don't regret this decision for a minute.

I was banded in March 2007 and would love to join this forum. I have been struggling lately with fills/unfills and really not sure what to do. I have lost 60 pounds which is thrilling, however, recently I have started throwing up every time I get a fill then I have to go back several days later and get an unfill. Any words of wisdom?

Hi Eden.

I don't know what to say about throwing up with each fill. That's miserable. I'd take that to the main forum and see what all the banded people think. I'm sure you'll get some decent opinions.

But welcome to the Marchie thread. Glad to have you!

Woo Hoo Jeni! :whoo: Congratulations!

Eden, Welcome to this forum. You've done very well! Almost double the loss that I've been able to accomplish. Let us know what has worked for you. Does the Dr. think that the throwing up is due to overfill?

I've been logging my food again and am at 1200-1400 cals/day. Hope I see results now.....I'm going to weigh at the end of the week. How many cals do you guys think you are getting?

I use a body bugg to log my calories burned and track what I eat. My typical consumption is about 1400 a day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
