How optimistic am I being planning this 2 weeks post op?

Recommended Posts

I have surgery for my sleeve in 2 days time. Other than being overweight (BMI=45) I am fit & well (& hoping this will help keep me this way!).

However 2 weeks after my op I need to travel. I will be with my family so will have help, and will be travelling by train so no flying but there will be quite a bit of walking.

To those of you that have had the op how active were you 2 weeks post op? Will I be ok or am I being rather optimistic??

I had a BMI of just over 40. I’m 36 and I’m good shape otherwise. I was fine to walk long distances 2 weeks post op. I was not ok lifting anything heavy but walking was fine. Travel in stretchy not restrictive clothing. You should be fine

With no complications, you should be fine - just drink all your liquids, and put your feet up, and nap. The big risk is dehydration.

I am 2.5 weeks out and yesterday I grudgingly walked around a mall all day with my friend. I drank what I thought was enough Water, but today I woke up and my calves were sore - like a dehydrated sore. I did not get enough water in and my urine was darker than usual. Yeah, no pain in the abdomen, but make sure you REALLY drink your 64 oz water goal everyday.

You should be fine. As long as everything goes well with your surgery, you will be able to walk around. As @frust8 said to remember to drink lots of liquids and to take breaks when necessary. No need to be like a New Yorker trying to catch their connecting train lol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
