I have a question about insurance. I have United Healthcare. Will it cover seeing the nutritionist, and everyone else i may have to see? Will I have to pay a co pay at each visit or is it all one pay?

I was curious. I have been so excited for the surgery that i haven't even given this a thought.

Thanks:)

Honestly it really varies so much you will probably be better off giving your insurance a call and discussing it with them. Your surgery center will probably have an insurance specialist onsite but even then they will need to get the specifics of not only your insurance company but also your specific plan within that company.

My insurance doesn't cover the visits to the dietitian, though maybe the post-op visits are covered by the cost of the surgery? They called the first time I went and told me, I said "just bill me," and I have yet to receive a bill.

They will probably bill you for the non covered visits and there should be a 90 day post op after surgery that visits should be covered. I’m not too positive about nutrition visits under the 90 days but I know for a fact that doctor visits would be covered

My nutritionist visit and psych eval was done in my surgeons office, on the same visit. My insurance shows I owe a $20 co-pay, but my surgeon has never collected any payments during my visits, nor sent any bills.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
