I'm so frustrated, I feel like I'm doing all the right things but obviously I'm missing something. I had surgery on January 4th, 2018, here are my stats:

HW: 270 SW: 254 CW: 234

After only a month post op I've completely stopped losing weight for almost a month now. I've only lost 20lbs in 7 weeks. I know it's not normal to stall so early and for so long. I must be doing something wrong. I started working out last week (3x/week) so really hoping that helps.

My doctor only said to work out and stop weighing myself so often. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Normal, happened to me also.

Instead of weighing yourself talker body measurements

Contact your surgeon and nutritionist if it lasts longer than 3 weeks

Your experience is extremely normal. Sometimes our bodies kinda freak out over the rapid weight loss and throw up some defense mechanisms....which would be terrific if we were starving during a famine....but are kind irritating when we're trying to lose weight.

Many many many people experience what you're experiencing. Don't worry, everything is fine. Stick to your program. Eat well. Exercise. Be patient. All is well.

There’s no such thing as a stall one month in. There should also be no such thing as a scale to weigh yourself on or concern about your weight loss at this point. I’d like to see an update on this post at six months out when it really matters. By the way I’m five weeks out surgery January 18th & in the same boat as everyone who posted that they’re stalling a 3 to 4 weeks not trying to be rude but trying to be a realist it’s ridiculous! Calm down & stay the course.

As for the advice you asked for I have questions. Are you eating half a cup of healthy food every three hours? Are you not drinking Water 15 minutes before your meals to 30 minutes after your meals? Are you getting the required amount of Protein? Are you drinking liquid calories? Those are just the refreshers that come to mind there may be a couple more. Hopefully you’re stall comes to a close quickly but my dietitian told me personally to stay away from the scale and not to be concerned with weight until at least 3 months post-op. Good luck!

It’s completely normal & it’s completely frustrating! I didn’t lose weight for pretty much the entire first 4 weeks and it got depressing because I was doing everything right. Keep doing all the right things & trust the process:)

Thank you everyone, that was very helpful.

I tried my best to keep cool about the stall for the first 3 weeks but when it was coming up on a month it was getting worrisome. It's wonderful to have your support and realize it's part of the process and good news, I dropped this morning!

Your support means a lot.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
