Has anybody else experienced a lot of itching at incision sites right after surgery? I’m 3 days out and it is driving me crazy. I just want to dig. I know when a wound itches they say it is a sign of healing. But this soon after.
I also seem to be having a tougher time getting the Protein Drinks and Water in. My stomach feels like it is freaking out. Hard to explain the feeling. Is this normal??

I wouldn't think it was an issue. Everyone heals at a different rate, and you could be healing a bit faster.

Hi Everyone!
I'm starting my liquid diet today! My surgery will be March 19! Any tips for getting through the 2 week liquid diet?
I'm going to need all the help I can get! haha!

Be strong and steady. I was very hangry [emoji6] it gets easier!! Keep your eye on the prize. I froze Greek yogurt for a treat and used unflavored Protein in a lot of things to make sure I got my protein. If I got really hungry, I gulped a big cup of Water and went walking. Surgery for me is tomorrow. You can do it!!!

So I had a small almost-panic-attack just now thinking that I was going to be rejected right on the OR table, LOL. Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing?

13th for me 😁😁😁.. anyone know once you start the 9 day diet if your allowed to drink more than 64 oz In a day??? I’m mostly on a liquid diet, except one yogurt at dinner... 3 Protein Shakes and ..8oz of milk... the dietitian said 1000 calories a day... but If that’s all I’m allowed to eat... that’s less than 700 calories... any ideas??!! Please and thank you 😊

I've never even heard of it! Good luck tomorrow, safe surgery!

OMG, I just looked it up -- sounds interesting, but maybe I'll wait until after surgery, LOL

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
