  16. 7 days Post op tomorrow. Been a little bit of a rough ride. Hoping it gets better soon. First 4 days every thing I swallowed made me nauseous. Then I started with hives. Thought it was the pain meds. Stopped taking them 36 hours ago. Called my surgeon and pcp. Was told to take benedryl. If does not help call. Today I am one giant hive. It’s crazy. On top of that my throat was little soar and I was worried the hives were starting there. Nope looked in the mirror and yup thrush. Seriously!!!! Called doctors again. Explained that I was a walking hive and it was driving me crazy. Also that I believed I had thrush. Doctor gave me med for thrush. She honestly thinks the allergic reaction is from the chloraprep they used. She said if doesn’t go away in couple days get in to see doctor. May have to do a short dose of steroids. Which she really doesn’t want to do right now. Still working on the fluids. Very hard to get it all in. But the pain is definitely better. So that’s a positive. Also 4.5 lbs down. Just venting. Feeling frustrated and tired.

  24. Has anybody else experienced a lot of itching at incision sites right after surgery? I’m 3 days out and it is driving me crazy. I just want to dig. I know when a wound itches they say it is a sign of healing. But this soon after. I also seem to be having a tougher time getting the protein drinks and water in. My stomach feels like it is freaking out. Hard to explain the feeling. Is this normal??
  25. Good luck to all you March sleevers!! My husband and I looked at each other and said here is to the first day of the rest of our lives. New adventures all the time. He had his surgery on December 4th
  26. Yeah that might work. Stop the natural gravity thing. Don’t let all that body hang lower
  27. Yeah I have 2 extra so I will try to elevate myself. Hopefully it works. I have lymphedema in my left calf. So sleeping on my back is always a challenge. Hospital bed you can adjust the center of the bed as well. So I’m going to try elevating my upper body then put a pillow under the left knee. Fingers crossed that it works. Lol!! If course belly looks like Pillsbury dough boy right now. Lots of swelling and major indents where the incisions are.
  28. Well I was released from the hospital today. Everything going as it should be I guess. I totally feel like crap right now. I know it will pass but right now I hurt like there is no tomorrow. Oxy not really helping. Can’t lay on my left side because my right side hurts so bad. Burns like crazy. Tried laying on my back with ice packs. Which worked in the hospital because you can adjust the beds. But at home no so much. Gotta rethink sleeping for next few nights. I know I’ll get through it but at this moment it is awful. The problem with the pain like that it makes me so nauseous. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  29. Not to bad. Bit of a rough night. Pain got pretty bad last night. Made me nauseated again. The hit me with double dose of pain meds and anti nausea med. then nurse made me up two ice packs. Those helped a lot. Got up a bit ago and got couple laps down the hall done. Waiting till 8am for protein shake. Then doc should be in to let me know if I’m getting out today. Had to have more blood work to see if my count is still off. So all is going as expected. One step at a time in this new journey .
  30. Yes full liquids. They said they will try stage 3 tonight. Protein shakes. I did just eat about 1/4 of chicken broth. So far belly has handled it ok. Nervous eating because not sure when to stop. Didn’t want to freak my belly out. Walking is going great. I’ve made 16 trips down the halls today.
  31. Just saw the doctor. She has moved me to stage 2. Said everything looks great. Blood count is a Little low so they will watch that. Definitely staying one more night. But that’s ok. Did 4 laps in the halls this morning. Pain has its moments. Only had Tylenol at midnight then didn’t ask for anything until 6:30 this morning. Gave me double hit. So that part is getting better as well.
