Where is your port placement?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering where everyone has had their port placed... I was banded 2 weeks ago and mine is about an inch under my belly button... It is quite uncomfortable with jeans on..

I haven't had surgery yet - scheduled for Nov 13th, but my doc said it will be slightly to the right as well. I guess all surgeons don't put it in the same place.:(

When I first started, I thought band placement was standard, but through reading the threads, I find that's definitely NOT the case.

My surgeon told me the most convenient place (for him) would be between the breasts, but mine wouldn't be placed there because of the bra.

So mine is in the midsection, right hand side. (Healing nicely now, but gave me issues with getting up and down...)

Mine is on the left level with belly button..I had my surgery on 10/17/07 and the steri-strip just fell off yesterday over the port..that is my most painful site also..

Mine in on the right side just below my rib cage-at least that is where I feel it, but when I get a fill-he shoots to the right side about two inches from my belly button!

Mine is at the very top of my stomach in the middle...right under the breast. It is very noticible. The skin is molded right over it, so you can see it clearly. I'm kinda glad because I know that getting fills (starting November 3rd) it won't be hard to find. ;)

Just had mine done last Thursday. My port is not far below my left breast. It seems like a good place because it is below the bra and above any waistbands. Out in the middle of nowhere...

Halfway between belly button and breastbone, four inches to the left of midline. It is palpable, but not visible and doesn't hurt at all. Only a tiny one inch scar.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
