Six months is the recommendation at my group, but the overwhelming advice it to avoid it permanently. I know some people do continue to drink after six months, but alcohol will feel different...both in absorption rate and the way it's digested. It might cause you problems, so approach reintroduction very cautiously.

I’m not sure what I’ll drink if I start again. Beer and carbonated mixers are out, wine makes me sleepy, and I can’t drink martinis for several hours.

4 months in my program, but also not sure what I’d drink. I didn’t really drink before, so I’m not missing it too much.

Don’t do it! Empty calories! I made the mistake and found myself drinking more than ever! Bam! 30 pounds back on in a few months! It will affect you differently than ever before! So not worth it! If you venture, be careful!

Started back since full liquid stage. Tolerance was off for a day or two, then back to normal. 75 pounds down in a little over two months. BP down to near-normal from "extreme hypertension." Feel great.

Just sayin'.

Cheers.

So glad to hear, Im not going to try until at least 6 month, probably a year, but I do enjoy the occasional frozen margarita.

When did everyone start to drink alcohol?

2 weeks. I tolerate much less which is ok. I drink a single shot of vodka in a tall Water with ice and lime - and I add sugar free powdered drink mix (found some margarita flavored), or a glass of cabernet. I gave up diet coke - that was hard enough LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
