I have borderline hbp and was taking 7.5 of lisinopril prior to wls. My surgeon took me off the lisinopril. And here is the weird thing - the three times I have had a follow-up appointments with the PA at the surgeon's office my bp has been on the higher side 140-150/85-90 and I said - that's too high - you took me off the meds - so? The PA said - well you need to see your primary doctor. But YOU guys are the ones that took me off the meds! So I put myself back on my normal dose this week and have a call in to my primary. I have my surgeon share all results w my primary, whether or not they read them is anyone's guess.

Blood pressure meds can have side effects. Slightly elevated blood pressure (systolic up to about 140 or 150) isn't super dangerous.. so it's a judgement call as to the benefit of medicating these elevated pressures. I chose not to medicate mine once I was consistently under 150 systolic.

If I was running 148-152, I'd probably take a half-dose, depending on the med.

Of course, this is with the idea that I'm in a weight-reduction phase, and expect the pressures to continue improving. If I were in a weight- stable phase, then I'd want to stay on a blood pressure medication with pressures over 140.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
