What r you doing for exercise?

These are my rules I stick too
Rule # 1 it’s only a number it’s how your clothes feel and how you feel.
Rule # 2
Lifting weight or resistance training of some sort is a must. Your muscle that you tone and build will use the fat as energy and infact you could way more but be smaller if that makes sense.

I was heavy into powerlifting but won’t be anymore since I was sleeved as being over 300lbs is not good for your heart or joints.

Sleeved nov 11/17

I’m getting about 600-800 calories in.
I’m aiming for 40/40/20 macro on my nutrition. When I was lifting hard I’d consume 5000 calories plus a day. I had lots of muscle mass but I couldn’t get below 22% body fat. Then of course bad habits took over. And my weight became a battle

I walk 1.5 miles in 40 minutes on a treadmill at 7 incline. I’m going to start lifting Jan 1, but for muscle tone only. My days of powerlifting are over.

Protein will help preserve your muscle and force your body to use fat cells as energy.

How do your clothes fit?

No prob. Everyone has a different story. Once you are cleared.... pick up a dumbbell. It will help you immensely.

From what you just said there tells me your muscles are preserving themselves. I.e. clothes fitting better

Gained 3 pounds in how long? A month?

Just treat it like a marathon and not a sprint. Keep doing the right things and you'll get to where your going

It was goin down slowly every week and then the next day it went up I️ know that’s the biggest struggle not comparing yourself to others and being patient

I was sleeved on 10/17/17 . I had one week that I gained 2lbs then lost 6lbs the next week. The week I gained I was having a hard time getting in my Protein. I was only getting like 30 grams a day. I started writing everything down again and planned a little better and I’m back in track. Good luck to you!

So it went up in a day? Unless you ate 10,000 calories it means nothing I wouldn't stress it

It went up in a day lol
Come on..that's not fat. Probably just Water weight. Our body fluctuates. If it makes you this crazy don't weigh everyday there really is no point. Once a week or once every two weeks will help you avoid noticing these things. Keep your Fluid up it will go away

#1 STAY OFF THE scale DAILY!!!! weigh in weekly, I fluctuate as much as 5lbs a day from morning to night when I weight daily. Its Water weight.

#2 get a body fat monitor and check your body fat % weekly instead of focusing on weight. You can get them on Amazon for about $25 and are easy to use.

Don't weight yourself everyday, it will make you crazy. My scale fluctuates so crazy if I weigh myself everyday. Gaining 2 pounds in one day is not fat, it's Water. Up your Fluid intake if you can. Also if your stalled a bit you may need to increase your calories as well. I would stall when they were to low.

Well within reason..lol I fluctuate between 1800 and 2400 a day. depending..But Im also a 220 lb man, so you need to see where you need to be at calorie wise.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
