My surgery date is 12/1. I'm super excited. What would you guys recommend I wear to the hospital, as well as what I should pack for the hospital stay. I'm not sure what to pack given the fact that it's winter. Thanks guys.

I am definitely bringing a book, my Fire Tablet, iPod and headphones, slippers, and lotion (those places are always so dry!) Other than that, I'm not sure. Good luck!!

Loose stretch pant, comfortable pj's, Gas x, slip on shoes. I didn't feel like even looking at my phone or a book!

If you are sensitive to light or sound and will be staying in the hospital overnight bring ear plugs and an eye mask.

I don’t go anywhere without my Burt’s bees lip balm.

Good luck!

There's a really great post in one of the other forums (general weight loss surgery I think) that's pinned at the top with a list of what to bring. It's a few years old, but it's still applicable.

We were told not to bring anything clothes wise or toothbrush wise. I just wore clean clothes that were comfortable, you change out of those when you get admitted.

The reason they gave made sense to me. The hospitals are full of germs, don't risk bringing germs from the hospital to your home.

I did bring my iPad ( that I didn't use) and my cell phone,
lip balm and a hair brush because they only have combs available .

The hospital supplied everything else. They even offered lip balm.

I guess it is a personal thing and you need to bring what makes you feel most comfortable when away from home.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

I wore pajama pants and use those same ones to come home in. Trust me it’s all you need. Especially since they made me change right out of them as soon as i checked in! I had my phone and headphones, slippers, robe and blistex! Thanks me later!!!

I took clothes but didn't need them other than underwear as I wore a hospital gown. The things I found useful: my own toiletries travel sized Shampoo toothpaste etc. A hair brush and small mirror to do it while in bed. Lip balm and moisturizer are a must. You're not drinking much and the air-con dries out your face and lips. A good pair of slippers or easy shoes as they will encourage you to walk. A robe if it's cold which I forgot! Phone/tablet/laptop whichever with lots of data if they don't have Wi-Fi earphones and charger. I took a book of crosswords didn't look at it. I did take a notebook and pen and used them. Took makeup didn't use it just moisturizer and lip balm. Any paperwork or scans they ask you to bring. ID insurance details. Family contact numbers. A sense of humour and a half cup of bravery :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
