I am looking at my mixers and frying pans today. I don't think those will be my go-to methods in the future. So - if you would like to cook in a more healthy fashion - what do you invest in? Instant Pot? Air Fryer? Vitamix? I keep getting suggestions but wanted to consult this group since you are the living experts. Ideas appreciated!

I cook the same way I always did.. pots, pans, oven. It's true I don't bake dessert much any more, and I never was one to deep-fry food.

Toying with the idea of getting an instant-pot pressure cooker. Never used one, but quick, tender meat is appealing. Slow cookers are useful, but I can't stand the smell they make in the house.

Looking forward to hearing what others have to say...

The kitchen toys I currently love are my smaller crockpot, my spiralizer and a couple of really good knives. I had a larger crockpot that I used before surgery but after I realized that for the quantities of food that I now eat it was just too big so I downsized. The spiralizer is good for making various sorts of veggie noodles. And the good knives are probably obvious :) But I spend a lot more time in the kitchen now chopping and preparing foods so having good knives for that makes it so much easier and enjoyable. I'm intrigued by the insta-pots but haven't gotten one yet.

I'll add my love for my Instant Pot. It's been great in making large batches of soft chicken that I can shred up, and has allowed me to make good meals for my hubby with leftovers to spare. I can't wait to make more recipes in it now that I'm able to add more foods to my diet :) Mine also came with a little wire insert for cooking/steaming fish and veggies, which I will DEFINITELY be making use of!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
