I'm not losing crazy weight, but I'm still losing 10 lbs a week. More manageable loss I guess.

This is crazy weight loss already when you think about how many calories a body must burn to incinerate 1 kg of body fat.

I have a question then, not Cookies, but rather about carbs. What about lentils and fruit? My dietitian says that without carbs, we'll crash.

Totally fine to eat this stuff. Some people tend to throw out the baby with the bathwater when it comes to carbs. They're so afraid of eating "carbs" that they miss out the nutritional benefits of fruits, legumes, starchy vegetables and grains just like other people are so afraid of "fats" that they miss out the benefits of nuts and seeds.

So I avoid breads and pastas and stick to Beans, lentils, vegetables and fruit. I'm not losing crazy weight, but I'm still losing 10 lbs a week. More manageable loss I guess.

Ummmmm what would you consider losing crazy weight? More than a pound a day seems like crazy weight to me!

You don't think that losing 10 lbs a week is not crazy weight loss!? Did you mean 10 pounds a month? My average the first three to four months was 17 lb a month and I thought that was amazing. Surely you're not thinking that 10 lb a week is not crazy awesome weight loss! I'm glad you posted about the carbs because I really wasn't sure how many carbs I should be aiming towards a day myself. I'm 5 months post up now gastric bypass. I've lost 65 lb and I'm happy happy happy.

Thanks!

We are all different but now, 3.5 months out, I have found weight loss to continue on a regular basis when I focus only on Protein and stick to my basic non protein daily exceptions. Like 85-90% dark chocolate, or my homemade granola made mostly from seeds and oats. The more carbs I have the worse, and I just came off a 2week stall. So I’d choose to eat my protein sans carbs. Or very little. Whatever works for you, is fine. 1) how it makes you feel afterward and 2) how It affects your weight loss the next day or so.

Heres what numbers my team has given me for guidelines, PER DAY:

Calories: up to 600
Protein: 60-80g
Fat: less than 25g
Carbs: less than 60g -- Net Carbs: less than 35g (regular Carbs minus Fiber = Net Carbs)
Fiber: up to 25g
Water: at least 64oz
Sugar: Wasnt given sugar gram guidelines.

Exercise: 30-60 mins (or 150-300 mins/week - a week being 5 days)

Hope this helps. Seems to be working fine for me. Though, I'm sure everyone one on this app has been given different numbers for their micros, since each doc/nutritionist has their own idea of dieting success. These numbers are just recommendations based on my team. Tweek ur daily numbers as ur body sees fit is always the best plan of attack! Good luck!

Thanks. 600 calories seem so low. I'm usually around 900-1000. Although sometimes it's hard to keep accurate calories, like when I eat an apple but can't finish the last 2 slices. But I'll enter one apple in my fitness pal.

Doesn't have that amount of Protein as well.
Protein Cookies or brownies are very filling. I used to eat them in the beginning (got tired of them after a few weeks though).
I don't buy into this "might as well eat"-mentality. Black and white. With protein cookies or brownies you eat only one - and that's it. With regular cookies... well, I suppose there might be room for a few others after the first?
I also don't get the hype about Quest bars. They taste like pure artificial sweetener to me. *YUCK*

These are very filling. One cookie is lunch.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
