I'm interested to hear about long term sleevers (5+ years). Do you have any regrets? How has your journey been? Have you maintained? Most importantly, have you had any medical issues that could be contributed to your sleeve? I hate there's not a lot of long term data on this yet.

Seems like you have your surgery today - so a bit late to ask that type of questions, huh?!

just kidding :)

I'm four years out, does that count?

@jess9395Yes! :D Just interested to hear. Hopefully it's all or mostly positives!

@temkinsI'm currently waiting to go back for surgery, so yeah. Lol. But I did post it a few days ago. :P

Pretty rough. But much better today. Yesterday early morning my BP plummeted and I fainted (never fainted before in my life). So the Dr. said I had some internal bleeding that looks like it healed itself. After I got some blood and more IV fluids, I started to feel better. Now I think I'm just experiencing regular surgery aches and pains. My heart rate has been high, but other that everything looks a lot better.

My two cents for whatever it's worth.:D

I'm only 3 years 5 months out. No regrets. I bounced back from surgery quickly. My weight came off quickly. I'm healthy and in the best shape of my life for an old fart. Maintained well for the first 2 years. 3rd year battling a 10-15 pound gain back and forth. I can gain weight quickly and it's a snail's pace to get it back off.

Always a risk of complications with any surgical procedure. Statistically is seems to be a low percentage.

I only have one minor issue from my sleeve procedure. I have reactive hypoglycemia/low blood sugars. It's manageable. ( I'm not in hospice care with month to live... so, life is good.)

Long term data and statistics have been an interesting thing. My local surgeons office is having problems collecting data because many patients stop coming in for appointments/check ups as they get further out from surgery.

I just decided I didn't want to be a statistic. I'm responsible for my own outcome and success with weight loss.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
