I’m TRYING to not get down. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s experienced this. But I’ve hardly eaten in a month!!! And since surgery only TEN pounds?! I don’t freakin get it. Yes I can tell in my clothes etc. but I’m following all the rules and not starving on purpose, sometimes it’s tough to eat but I’m doing ok overall but 10lbs is a joke I lost more than that pre op??? :/IMG_2505.JPG upper left 4 days post op. Bottom right most recent.

You are a "light weight", and can expect to lose more slowly than a heavier person. I weigh about what you do now, and am losing only about a pound a week. (I started out 60 pounds heavier than you, and am 6 months postop). As we get smaller, our bodies don't have to work as hard feeding the fat and carrying it around. Weight loss slows down.

I agree with berry. The smaller you are at surgery will mean you lose slower. I’m a month out and I lost 16, only because I had Water weight from having my period right before surgery. I took my measurements and as of 2 weeks ago I lost 2” in my stomach and 10” overall. Even though the scale wasn’t moving I was still losing. I have a pair of pant I can’t wait to get into and try them on once a week. I can tell I’m losing as I’m getting closer to fitting into them. Don’t get discouraged, I only lost 2 lbs on the 2 week liquid diet and was so pissed but the measuring tape told the true story! Good luck and it will happen

I agree with berry and Punkylynn. I only lost 6 lbs by the end of a month after my surgery. I probably like you didn't start off too heavy so we're gonna loose a lil slower than most. Your surgery is not a joke, you're actually doing rather well and will continue to do well if you do all that is required of you. I keep waiting to pull out that sz 8 jeans I have in the closet but I know it will not be till next year. Summer maybe. Keep up the good work. You're right on track.

I’m exactly in the same boat. 5 weeks post-op. Lost 20lbs Pre-surgery and almost 10 since. It’s very frustrating to see the same number day after day. People say not to weigh yourself, but that does not work for me. I know 2 lbs avg a week is good for Weight Watchers, but I did expect to be down at least 20 by now. Feeling a little low - I can’t lie.

I’m with you! I did a two week pre-op diet and had surgery 3.5 weeks ago. I’m down 21 lbs total, and most of that was before surgery! I did start with a BMI of 38 so the docs told me I would lose slower but it’s so frustrating! The numbers on the scale are not moving, however I have noticed my clothes are not fitting like they were. I was hoping to be down much more by now too. It’s so hard not to see that scale move when you feel like your starving yourself everyday!

List a typical day of food and Water.

I am sure you are anxious, aren't we all. I can only give you encouragement, hang in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
