Just found out I was approved and will be sleeved in November. Now I'm wondering: is this an insane thing to do? Before I was approved I was sure this surgery is the right step for me. I am really done with being miserably fat. I see this surgery as the first step toward a healthier me. But now I have these sneaking doubts (and a little fear). I'm still having the surgery but I wish I felt as sure as I did before approval. Did anyone else feel this way? When did you feel that this surgery was the right choice for you?

I felt that way off and on all the way up until the day of surgery but after I had it and I started losing the way and started feeling better I'm so glad I did it

Once I had a surgery date, I began to ask those questions. Three weeks post-op, I have brief moments of wondering if I should have tried harder to do this without the surgery, but in the grand scheme of things, I know I did the right thing.

I go in for my sleeve on the 16th I started out on this journey back in March while I had to do a 6 mo of supervised diet it just all seem like it was so far away having to jump thru all the hoops but when I finished it all it I still didn't feel like it was happening it wasn't until I got a call from my surgeon saying he wanted to talk but this was not a pre-surgery visit that he wanted to make sure that this is what I wanted to do. I told him I've come this far to turn back now that the risk out weight doing nothing or the risk of relapses would leave me in worst shape and older considering I just turn 35 last month a wife and 3 kids . This is all gonna seem crazy as I still wonder if this is the right thing to do but at the end of the day look at how this will benefit your life

I had similar bouts of second guessing. I'm 8 days post op and I'm so glad I followed through. I can already tell that it was a reset button for me. I know things can change as time passes but I just feel it in my bones that something has changed and I know I'm going to be successful with this.

Also, I never follow through on anything, so the fact that I got to the point that I actually had a surgery date, I thought to myself "this has to be the right decision for me if I was able to follow through this far". There's just no way I my previously self-defeating personality would have allowed me to do all of the work up to surgery unless there was something deep in my mind giving me that extra push.

I wish you well!!!!

Once I got my date for November 7th. I almost cancelled. I still keep thinking about it. Not because I’m scared. It’s the money I’m scared to keep taking money out of the household.

I felt the same way. Even after surgery I had regrets. While in the holding room for surgery, I was thinking if this woman doesn't hurry up I'm getting up and going home. At 7 months out I'm wondering why I didn't do this year's ago. I spent my entire young life fat and miserable. Here I am getting dressed for work weighing 195 pounds, fitting comfortably in a size medium shirt and a size large pants. I feel amazing. It was the best decision of my life. My health has improved 200%. I can now enjoy my 4 year old like she deserves. You won't regret it. I assure you.

I know that feeling, I would say it happened to most of us.. after surgery you will retreat not doing it before LoL. This was my only 1 surgery (and hope last) in mu life.. so I was scared.. once you see the progress you will be very happy with fast results.. so stop doubting and look at others before/after photos to keep you motivated.

I questioned myself leading up to surgery and in the weeks after. Now at 9 months post op this was the best decision I ever made. It's hard in the beginning and you will question yourself but as the time passes and you feel better the outlook becomes better.

Only thing that lingers as far as worry goes is the lack of long term studies that are unable to be done with the sleeve. This is due to the newness of it. Can't be helped.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
