2 days out cannot get all 64 ozs water in, is problem?

Recommended Posts

As long as you are getting over 40oz and are peeing 3-4 times a day or more, then you are doing fine and just keep trying.

I found it easier to meet my goals by drinking out of pint jars. Sip sip sip, but 4 if those jars is 64 oz.

Of course if you start getting dizzy or otherwise feel bad, feel free to contact your team.

Yeah.. weakness lasts surprisingly long.

Your body is still processing the IV fluids too, so all that peeing is good.

Sounds like you are doing just fine...

Just sip all day and you will be fine. Your Protein Drinks are fluids and they count too, so if between Protein drinks and Water you are hitting 64, you are fine.

For my first followup (day 4), I was expecting a lecture because I was only getting about 50oz. My surgeon was like
"really? That's great!".

Best wishes for stage 2!

Hi all. Surgery Tues 9/26 so 4 days out. Still trouble getting 64 Fluid in. 45-50 yes. Started Protein Shakes today and had diarreah. Don't know if is related. More pain in incision area today and more weak than yestrday. Not able to do full half hour walk but I did get few little walks in. Tire easily. Am going to Irish festival tomorrow to watch and enjoy. Will of course bring my Water, Protein and walk often. All in all think I'm doing well and looking forward. All of your posts have been so helpful. Thanks for sharing them and good luck everyone as we tread and skip through this exciting journey.

My doctor told me that 64 oz of Fluid included the Protein Shakes so he had me doing my to 30 gram Protein shakes which were 11 ounces each and then the rest in Water take really small sips like every 3 to 5 minutes really really small ones and just do it all day and you should be able to get the water in and try it kind of warm cold water I couldn't tolerate warm water I did great with room temperature

You’re doing excellent. I was able to walk fine 10 days after my surgery. And yes some protein shakes will give you diarrhea.
If the festival is sitting I think you’ll be fine.
4 days after my surgery if you mentioned to me going out I may had kill you LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
